The feelings that Jane had with Jaab was probably much better than he had with Mon. However, the kiss was a mistake, in that Jane was in a committed relationship and should not have kissed someone else. But, Jaab being fully in his own head, didn't bother to hear Jane through.
Put is not really making the effort to maintain or even HAVE a relationship with Pat. While Jeng creates safety and offers comfort unconditionally to/for Pat - Put has given neither.
