100%. A prime example is a current Thai GL thats still airing and very popular (which I will not name lol) that FOR SURE romanticizes toxicity and NC as normal transition into a relationship. Its one thing to have flawed characters (which is necessary for plot and character development in most cases), but to have no reason or intention to make the characters eventually acknowledge said flaws, and build character and plot development from them, is enough to make level headed viewers log off. To each their own at the end of the day i guess.

I understand where you're coming from as it relates to the non consent from Queen. Its definitely not okay for sure. While I do agree that it is used as a plot device to move the story forward, I wouldn't say that it is necessarily romanticized. As seen in the show, Bonita calls out Queen on her behavior multiple times, even stating that she doesn't trust Queen and rightfully so. This shows that the series also acknowledges that Queen isnt a good person at this point on in the series. I'm not justifying her behavior, just explaining what I think is happening. As seen in the show, Queen is rich, entitled and used to getting what she wants. This inherently makes her a crappy person. However it is also shown in the show why she is this way. Lack of geunine love and acknoledgement from her mom as it relates to Queen's true feelings, being born into a lifestyle where he has to be stoic, overly critical and calculated. She's very unaware of other's feelings because hers (feelings as it relates to herself personally) goes unseen in the most human, important aspects. This doesnt whatsoever excuse her behavior, but it helps understand why she is the way she is at this point on in the series. I think Bonita serves as a bridge to make Queen realize that people's feelings and values can't be dictated with figures and social status. She retaliates against Queen at various points throughout and it reinforces that Queen indeed needs to rethink how she approaches Bonita. I do agree that the apology scene should have gone better, it also shows that Bonita has the ability to make Queen actually acknowledge her feelings and take accountability. Its shown that despite her cold and stoic demeanor, she's still capable of empathy (as seen by the scene with them sitting outside with each other, while bonita was mourning the situation with her mom and the person she thought was her trusted friend). Queen is not a good person and what she did was not okay, however I think her time with Bonita will slowly make her more intuned emotionally and empathetically, especially with others. Only time will tell and we'll have to see how it unfolds.

100% agreed. I think anyone who has the intentions of coming into this show expecting good, healthy romance initially would be disappointed for sure. I think Queen and Bonita's dynamic is meant to be somewhat problematic from the get go, which is also a reflection of their lives (both have parental issues, equating worth based on one's financial and social status, lack of genuine love from supposed "loved ones" overall). Hopefully as time goes on, they will learn what true love (romantically and just in general) and value is not only as individuals but, together as a couple too.

Seeing Bonita break down like that after realizing the woman who is meant to be her mom treats her like dirt, and the one true friend she thought she had turned out to be someone completely horrifying was so heartbreaking.

It sucks cause it feels like she's equating her worth and existence based on what others do for her/deem how much she is worth (literally Kem stating that he paid 200,000 to pay off her mom's debt, then Queen offering 500,000 in "return"for Bonita). Its quite disheartening. I hope Bo sees the value in herself as a person to which numbers can't compare, and I hope Queen realizes this too and actually want Bonita for who she really is as a person.

From the vibe I'm getting from the series so far, just as the person mentioned below I don't think Queen is inherently meant to be morally good. She's rich, used to things going her way and being in charge. Hence why it is hard for her to genuinely sympathize with someone. We've seen multiple times throughout the show that Queen acknowledges too that she never once said she was kind or genuine. Not excusing her behavior, just explaining why she is the way she is at this point on in the series.

I think why people are thrown off by her behavior because by default we expect the main character to have a high moral compass, however Queen is very much realistically aligned with who she is meant to be in order for future character development as it relates to herself and also Bonita.

The show also acknowledges that she isnt a good person either, examples of this is primarily when Bonita calls her out multiple times on her behaviour, stating that she doesn't trust Queen. I think Queen is like this for a multitude of reasons (eg, her mom dismissing her true feelings hence why its hard for her to normally have any sympathy, being born into this lifestyle where she has to be emotionless and calculated all the time), however I think as the series go on we'll start to see a change in her behavior. I feel like her time with Bonita will slowly turn her from an almost heartless and entitled person to more sympathetic and emotionally intelligent person as time goes on.

This GL was simply fantastic. The pacing between Print and Rey, as well as the managers too was so well done. The acting, the comedic timing and the plot was so well done. I literally cried at the end lol. The rewatch value is definitely and I hope to see more of the two main girls, their chemistry is just *chef's kiss.* This series is a must watch!!

I totally get your frustration as certain concepts within thai gls can be overused and simply reaches a point where its been done so many times which can lead to disinterest in viewers, however most of these gls arent originals. They are adapted from novels that were previously written. I think what the thai gl industry needs now is more originals as you mentioned above. Something that hasn't been done before (if executed correctly).

I think the overall plot of Dangerous Queen is pretty interesting. I personally havent finished reading the novel, but I sense that Queen and Bonita both as individuals and together will undergo some kind of emotional character development that hopefully strays away from the typical "poor love interest of overly controlling and dominant rich ceo" trope, so we'll have to see how that plays out. I'm definitely all for original twists on commonly used tropes as well.
