An exercise in tedium.
Oh boy, another grating addition to the BL genre. I was looking for a light-hearted, breezy watch but all I got was a headache. The main leads have the depth of a piece of cardboard—and I’m pretty sure I could poke holes in their logic just as easily. They feel more like tropes than people. While Watarai’s attentiveness initially seemed sweet, it quickly devolved into a suffocating, overbearing obsession that lacked any real foundation? Even if I tried to suspend my disbelief regarding 'love at first sight,' the execution here feels unearned and hollow. Hioki’s consistently lukewarm reactions only add to the frustration. I don't get what on earth Watarai even saw in him, he's so fucking boring. Has the bar for BL dramas officially hit the floor? Needless to say, I'm beyond exhausted by the blatant misogyny towards the girl students, who are constantly reduced to rude bullies or jealous rivals. YAWN. It’s lazy and regressive writing ! There isn't a single redeeming quality here to justify sticking around past episode 7.
