U know the kind of seme, he will sacrifice him self for his uke, but in this series, he even -idk- broke his finger…
I could interpret it that he is giving some space, physical one, to Shao Fei. Tang Yi does not want Shao Fei to feel more stress than what their situation demands already. It is kinda sweet and very considerate.
And I am starting to have this feeling that Tang Yi is gay all of his life. LOL. If it holds true, then my gaydar is not only efficient in real life, but also in the fictional world. LOL
When Tang Yi and Shao Fei ended up being handcuffed together... I find it funny and sweet. Not only what Tang Yi said that it is Shao Fei second time ended up in a similar situation with his own cuffs. The cop and robber concept is now slowly becoming a seme-uke relationship.
I need to be cuffed with a Shao Fei! Without the running of course. LOL
- Update as of 5:36pm, April 22, GMT+8 , added Part 4 & Full Episode-- Update as of 4:30pm, April 20, GMT+8 -The…
There is an obvious cut at the start. It is the same starting point when I watched it on LIVE TV, but the running time is already at 5 minutes. But what was shown in the five minutes, I think will not affect the rest of the episode. The missing scenes typically appears in the full episode video. ================= Damn! I forgot the tissue roll and a paper bag to breath into.
- Update as of 5:36pm, April 22, GMT+8 , added Part 4 & Full Episode- - Update as of 4:30pm, April 20, GMT+8 - The Subbing team have a lot of on-going projects, and needless to say, a lot of BL series air being aired nowadays. In the past, the Part 2 should have been upload already. But this time around, expect delays.
As I checked and it is 3:36pm, April 19, GMT +8, the link: https://tv.line.me/embed/8068023 still does not have Eng Subs yet. I really do not want to post links to fan made subs as people will flock to watch. Although, the video already watched 1.7 million times already.
I believe this special or super mini-series has a great potential and it needs as many as it can for the production team behind this to make this a full-blown series. Giving a link to a fan made sub will lessen the likelihood that they will convert this to a full series. After all, someone already posted a way to watch it with Eng Sub.
Did some digging about 4NOLOGUE as it appears in the opening credits, I am not sure how they are related to 9x9 but I know Nadao is the production team behind Great Men Academy that featured almost all of the members of 9x9. If you are a fan of the group: here is 4NOLOGUE's official YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/4NOLOGUE/featured
Going back to Reminders, I think, Ep 3 will not be aired in LINE TV but in their fan meet.
As I watch the raw episode... Early on in Episode 7, I literally said out loud: F***! like 3 times! In succession.…
All along I suspected that Tun is related to Mes because of a girl, only to find out that the girl is actually Thun's mother ex-boyfriend, hence, he could see Mes. But that is not the only reason.
The more pressing reason is Khwan, Thun's mother, can see Mes as well. The reason why she could see Mes? I could only guess. But my best guess is Mes is Khwan's first and true love and that love enables her to see him.
Now, the death of Mes. Was it avoidable? Can he still survive after having an apparent heart attack? Why make Mes' room inaccessible, beside the fact the auntie and, I assume is Plai's granpa know what happened to him? Is it because they learned that Mes is gay? That is why Mes' relatives did not lift a finger to save him? And back in the late 90's, being gay is not yet socially acceptable.
Oh man! Episode 8 will surely be a blast! Both in revelations and the scene at the grave of Mes. I need to visit my cardiologist to check on my heart if it still can handle stuch stress! LOL
This is not your typical Thai BL story. How so? Here's why:
What are the 2 elements that majority of Thai BL stories elements have?
Students and schools.
Since season 1, this show never showed or focused on any of those two elements. The only reference comes close to it is Pop's sister, as she is studying in season 1 and that is where Pop's drive comes from to become a flight attendant. To provide a better life for her sister and mother.
And how Pree and Rambo was introduced in the series? In bed. Pent's introducing Bo to PnP (Partee and Play, a gay terminology used to refer the consumption of drugs and then perform sexual activities. If that did not send any message that this series is targeting more of a older and mature audience, I don't know what will.
For this season, when Oat was drugged and appeared to have been raped, I was not totally surprised about it. Knowing how far Bo and Pent can go to towards the end of season 1, it is somehow given for me.
Newyear and Win's respective characters. Win appear to be a savior of Newyear early on, only to show that Win have a dark side. Newyear's character being physically and sexually abused has more to it. If you are going to take it out of context, yes, it is only that. Dark and twisted? Yes. But if you are going to connect the scenes while he was detained and eventually was freed, it will have a totally different meaning. The way I understand Newyear's character, he is a masochist. After being abandoned by his mom and brother, he was totally wrecked... mentally. He is on survival mode. And when he sees an opportunity take Win's character that "cares" for him, he ask the latter if he could stay. When he cuts his palm, furthers the point that he is a masochist, not only mentally but also physically. Another evidence of him being on a survival mode is when he stole money from Win's wallet to pay his due for the rent that it is okay for him to be beaten up, be abused, thinking that he has a roof over his head and aware that what he did is wrong, I remember him pausing before deciding to get the moeny out of the wallet? It showed that he way is options back then. Newyear's character performing a self-harm act opens the viewer to a taboo. Some believers think they do it to feel pain for them to know that they still feels, alive. While others will claim that it is a psychological disorder brought about by a trauma. Other reasons could be: a form of punishment, a cry for help, relieving stress/tension.
For one to appreciate how this season is currently and going to, you need to disassociate your ideas that Thai BL series are all sun and rainbows and none of the rain and darkness. Again, this season, from the very start in season 1 is primarily not targeting the younger ones, audience in school/unis, but more of the working class. As a student, you only have to deal with friends, love and family. But when you are already working, on top of those 3, you need to have a career, learn how to survive on a daily basis, what food to eat, where to stay for the night, after all that what adulting is like. It is not pretty, glamorous and kind. In real life, it is the exact opposite. And that is why I appreciate sad endings more than the happy ones, but, it does not mean that I do not like happy endings too, I really do. For me, it is over-rated. In real life, we have more sad endings than the happy ones.
And I am keeping my judgement until the end of the series since Newyear and Win's characters have not interacted with Pop, Oat, Bo, Pree, Pent, Mo and Nick, so I can not be sure yet if Jinloe should have not introduce them to give more time on Oat-Pop relationship, from sweet to sour and perhaps to an eventual break-up? Or is Jinloe laying down the plot for a spin-off involving the two? Yes, I am more convince as each episode is aired that Jinloe is forcing this season to realign to the novel, Oat being a monk, and given 10 episode for this season, they need to cut corners, make short cuts and messing up the story line. Is it effective? So far, no. Like I said, if this season is able to show how Newyear and Win's character will come into play involving Pop-Oat, then perhaps this season will be redeemed in the end. If the partnership is total on a "different world", then they could have just dropped them and concentrate more on how to ruin the Oat-Pop relationship and not just with one day, Oat woke up and decided to become a monk.
The official link: https://tv.line.me/embed/8068023 , suprisingly, I can access it without using a VPN. I will provide update if this where the official Eng Sub will be done. Pretty neat watching it in a 1080p resolution! ======================== ORIGINAL POST: Be advised, the first Episode was shown last night, 2nd will be aired tomorrow, and the last is after the Fanmeet on Saturday:
That's what I thought. It is similar to Advanced Bravely in a way. Is the second episode coming out today?
Yes, tonight Episode 2 will be aired. However, if you can not understand Mandarin, the earliest for someone to sub it in Eng will be released tomorrow.
When I watch this, I am constantly being reminded of Advance Bravely. I guess it is Tang Yi's demeanor, a very manly, calm, collected with very calculated moves. Just like Yuan Zhong.
And, I am feeling the vibe and charm of Crossing the Line too Around 25 minutes of bliss!
- UPDATED as of 3:12pm, April 17, GMT +8, added Part 4 & Full Episode -Full Episode 5 with Eng Sub: http://data.mengalary.in/engsub-05-full-what-the-duck-final-call/Episode…
Lazy Subber is one of the best Eng Subber of Thai series out there, as she is not only familiar with Thai colloquial but when she sub, she add her "own" side remarks in her videos. But early the year, she explicitly said that she will take a break in subbing as school demands more of her time.
Going back to the series, it is written in the summary of the novel that Oat will eventually end up as a monk, and there's is no Mo to begin with.
In Season 1, it veered too far from the novel and I guess Jinloe wants to have a happy ending for this. I am not certain how this season will end, if the ending will stay true with the novel. In order to reach the "end" in the fastest way possible, the conflict should be created early on. Could they do it in a different way, I believe so. But given the limited number of episodes, I think that prevented them to take an alternate route. Or they could have just dropped the newest "couple", Newyear and Win, since half-way through, that couple have not interacted with the old couples.
How can I say that Oat will end up as a monk, in Boy Sompob's video for this season, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbLyKTGCH6c , someone is getting a haircut, in 2:05 both Oat and Pop are shirtless and it could be taken from Lazy Subber's summary ( https://www.facebook.com/LazySubber/photos/a.482487055452084/553194015048054/?type=3&theater , last sentence ) and it clearly shows that someone who is completely shave and water is being poured. And the MV that showed clips from the series, majority of them are already aired/shown and what only lacking, to be aired, are the scenes in the temple.
How could this be happy ending? For now, I can only think of one scenario. 10 years will passed by and one of them (Pop or Oat) will dig the time capsule. Darn! Forgot how many years Oat said before they dig it up again.
========================================= ORIGINAL POST: I have been holding this info for quite a while now as I am not how sure how this will end up, but now, after watching the raw Ep 5, I think the crew behind this season is forcing to realign or come close to the novel:
This one is my first Thai BL that did not involve a school, that is why it is kinda "special" for me. I know there is one also on top my head which is "Grey Rainbow". But I have watched WTD first.
My take, so far as why I am keeping an open mind is in the "Reveal Spoilers"
Mes' name is Wongsakorn Thanarungsiri, reveal towards the end of Ep 4.
Plai's grandpa last name is Thanarungsiri.
#2 is already established. To add, Thun's dad also remind the young Thun not to talk to "strangers", pertaining to ghosts/spirits. And when Thun's dad died, the dad seems alright for Thun can see Mes and actually can communicate with Mes. That is the time I theorized the Thun's family is somehow related to Mes. Additional assumptions I made in an earlier post than the link I gave above. Like the cemetery and the uni.
So for #1, the baby could have been Plai and not actually Thun. In the start of Ep 5, Mes and Thun visited the old address of Mes and the auntie confirmed it. However, the auntie also suspect that Mes at that time moved in with his relatives. It is now possible that the house where Plai currently live in is actually where Mes used to lived and died as well. Give the trailer for Ep 7, it seems that it triggered some memories for Mes. So Plai could be Mes' niece.
For #3, by now, it seems that it is way too extreme to be actually true.
*** The time when Mes got the courage to tell Khwan, Thun's mother, that he is in fact gay (the reason why Mes developed an unrecognized connection with Thun early on). And Thun has the courage and strength not to make the very same mistake with Plai, which could be a relative of Mes COULD "close" the circle OR could lead to the eventual separation of Mes and Thun which will make this series a very very sad ending, and I for one, could not make any more exaggeration out of it.
But for now, I can see a few direction where this series will end up being a happy one. For this to be happy, either one of them should be present in the other's, eerrrr, could not find the right word, existence, reality? Thun must die so he could be a ghost/spirit. Or Mes be reincarnated and connect with Thun again. OR, Mes is actually in a coma, the reason why he can not remember things, and be conscious again. But, he will be in his 40's already.
Damned! I don't what to think anymore! Last 2 episodes and I will just let it as it goes by. LOL
And I am starting to have this feeling that Tang Yi is gay all of his life. LOL. If it holds true, then my gaydar is not only efficient in real life, but also in the fictional world. LOL

I like also when Mean smiles... It washes away the "mean-ness" on his face, yes, pun intended. lol
When Captain makes faces: PRICELESS!
