Title Flourished Peony Spoiler
Before things go south, I would like to say that I don't hate Sheng Yi, but instead, I find her realistic and…
I’m going to play devils advocate here… this may come off as mean but Shengyi has poor judgement and isn’t the best decision maker. Call it a side effect of her circumstance that has molded her personality to be a little warped. Mudan should be the main decision maker when it comes to business.

I’ll give you some examples and hypothetical situations based on the 19 episodes I’ve seen.

Shengyi immediately had a bias against the female doctor because of who her father was. She automatically assumed the lady had planted the eggs in their fertilizer and when Mudan said that others had come in contact with the fertilizer, Shengyi dismissed the idea because those people are their own people, why would they harm them… let’s not forget, a couple epsiodes before, they were betrayed by one of their own workers in the geomancer incident. Mudan even proceeded to state why would the doctor incriminate herself if she did it, meaning why would she even come back there. That was an explanation on trust. Poor judgement by Shengyi.

Regarding moving out, without telling them the details of the safety concerns, Mudan initially posed the idea of them moving out so that Fu’s mother can live with them and stated they can’t always live with JCY. Both women agreed and didn’t offer any further feedback on the idea. Later when it came up about not wanting to move, Mudan offered the explanation that it would be too much of a hassle to move so by building a pavilion, they can have more space to relax. Shengyi didn’t offer any additional opinion. That’s plenty of explanation.

Other situations that make Shengyi a poor judge of character; she believed Mudan was fortunate enough to have LC love and affection after telling her about her unfortunate marriage, she believe that they should compromise to the Flower Guild because they need a man’s support, and lastly and the worse one, she has compassion for her ex husband and is considering going back to him due to loneliness.

Here’s a hypothetical situation that I see from a mile away if Shengyi takes him back. The ex husband will have his hands all in Mudan’s business and try to take control. Let’s not forget that he tried destroying their business twice. Poor judgement from Shengyi to even get close to a man who tried to sell you to a brothel because you wouldn’t allow him to abuse and force another woman.

Now why would anyone want someone with her personality to make business decisions? I wouldn’t really ask for her opinion because you can kind of guess how it will go. Mudan is nice enough to even discuss things with her. This is just a few examples, there are more. Not trying to be mean but she lacks certain insight. She is a hard worker but doesn’t have leadership qualities to make major decisions about their life and career.

At this point I watched all 6 episodes that came out to start. This is not going to be for everyone, especially…
Okay so it isn’t just me who is noticing this. I thought I was tripping or something. Even the way the cases are being worked, seems like missing pieces or things cut out.

I think its better that way. They had too much burden embedded to them right after they were born. Had they been…
Yeah you’re right and he did lose a lot more than her. I feel bad for them both. Great story though.

I agree. I appreciated this ending. It made sense for the story and wrapped up well.

I pity the FL more because the ML did torture her and kill her uncle. She loved and hated him which was justified. She never did those things to him. She still manage to try to keep him alive as long as she could. When the world hated him, she stood by him but when the world hated her, he abandoned her because of their opposition. Either way, sad story.

If you want the plot becoming really interesting and serious, you should pick up at ep 17. The story quality changes…
Thanks for providing more details. I may go back and take a watch as that does sound more interesting.

As a person who watches chinese dramas usually I cannot continue watching on the 2nd episode if i don't find it…
Glad you’re able to enjoy this one. I usually stop after about 5 or 6 episodes but really wanted to give this one a couple more episodes as a lot of commenters stated it picked up after that. Sadly, I couldn’t get into this one. Happy drama watching!

My reviews are based on personal preference, completely separate from my origin, upbringing and education as that…
Right! You caught that too. People kill me with the idea of stories like Bridgeton and all the others not being allowed to deviate from “history” when it comes to race. It’s a fictional story. Me personally, if the story is good, I don’t care what race they are. I just want to be entertained.

i’m just starting this drama and judging by the first episodes (currently I’m on the 8th one) I couldn’t…
Unfortunately the show only really highlighted the romance which was a very slow burn with not much happening or progress on it. I like slow burns but it didn’t work much for me in this drama. Was very predictable.

To be honest, I have read your opinions and unfortunately most of the positive ones seem to me to be completely…
My reviews are based on personal preference, completely separate from my origin, upbringing and education as that is an unknown for more of the reviewers here. Everyone is free to leave ratings rather good or bad. If you rate The Untamed a 5, then do so. No need to worry about what the fans who rated a 10 think. Your rating may or may not change their perception of the drama but offers differing views. It may allow them to see things they may not have previously noticed or thought of and it gives different opinions for those who have yet to watch. For the whitening and darkening effects, my preference has nothing to do with skin tones but rather visuals. The filters used in this production make it rather difficult to properly see facial expressions and the over whitening is somewhat blinding which some viewers, like myself, find important when watching productions.

I could not have said it better!!It got a Douban rating of 5.5. I think a 5.5 or 6.0 is where I am gona rate it.…
Yeah I was probably being modest because it had potential but the douban rating and what the other reviewer is saying is accurate.

This was the review I needed. Real and raw! So many people have recommended this show to me but definitely will pass.
