Fast-paced story; good indie soundtrack
The action, developing romance, and some frustration with the boys’ decisions kept me engaged enough to binge this show in a weekend. What started out as a cute high school romance shifted quickly into a crime drama, and the two main characters had to grow up quickly to meet the challenges that they faced.the pros:
-The indie soundtrack really complimented the show—many of the songs’ lyrics perfectly matched whatever emotion or action was playing out onscreen.
-I also appreciated that there were *some* moments that blurred the lines of the traditional “top” and “bottom” tropes in Palm and Nuengdiao’s relationship. Of course Palm was Nueng’s protector, but director made sure that their characters weren’t *always* designated to stereotypes of “strong” and “weak.” There were also dancing scenes in which both Palm and Nueng took turns as being the lead. I’m not sure why that struck me so much…
-There were cute flashback scenes of PalmNueng’s love story throughout the show; flashbacks that filled in the gaps of what we hadn’t seen the first time around. I thought this was a great way to add lightness to the intense, heavy episodes toward the end of the series, while also reminding the viewer of the passage of time.
The con:
both Nueng and Palm were far too young and immature for the intense kind of love that they fell into. Both boys couldn’t see past themselves and their own weaknesses to work as a couple. For a show called Never Let Me Go, they left each other a lot…and always for selfish reasons. The constant seesawing between promises to stay together forever and then running away from one another when times got tough gave me whiplash.
overall this BL was definitely worth the watch, but I’ll also look forward to a PondPhuwin series with older and more emotionally mature characters

traditional relationship tropes with a side of storytelling
the three main couples in Perfect 10 liners strictly follow their tropes: enemies to lovers, bad boy meets good boy, and introvert + extrovert. As far as storyline goes, I thought YothaGun’s was the most engaging. Junior and Mark’s acting made FaifaWine’s story cute and interesting as well. ArcArm’s story was sort of slow and boring to me. while Force and Book are lovely, I don’t see the same kind of chemistry between them as PerthSanta and JuMark. This was my first BL with SO many different main and side couples. I was sort of distracted by the 0% probability that so many gay relationships would exist in a smallish friend group in the Engineering major at what looks like a small college 😅
regardless, the personal story arcs of the characters and the romance between partners had me consistently watching every week.
I will say that trying to rewatch it has been too boring for me, and it doesn’t have the same spark when you already know what’s going to happen. But the first watch was fun, relaxing, and time well spent getting to know the characters and actors ⚙️

A lovely story with high potential that cycles between too simple and overly dramatic
As far as acting and production, I want to give props to Studio Wabi Sabi and New for bringing the world of Cake and Seeiw to life. Wabi Sabi has a smaller budget than the big studios, and they used many young/rookie actors. However, all of the early 2000s scenery, costumes, etc. were done very well and the acting was top notch. Especially this breakout role for Santa! As far as the story line and pacing, I wonder if it was better developed in the novel than in the series. While the whole concept of the narrative was cute, engaging and suspenseful, it was actually carried out in ways that were either boring or jarring. Particularly the last few episodes had way too much unnecessary drama that took away from all of the story development that had been done leading up to the end. And unfortunately the first few episodes drag a little too slowly to be truly engaging. The middle episodes have the best balance in my opinion.
despite these issues, the character development and portrayal by all of the actors, especially Earth and Santa, is top tier. All of the boys who played their school friends did a great job moving the plot along as well. At several points I was moved to tears by Santa and Earth’s acting, and it was these two who prompted me to finish the whole series.

Average fluffy romance
This show was cute, easy to watch, and engaged me until the end. It’s just your average rom-com, with many sweet but almost silly moments between Off and Gun.Most of the storyline was highly predictable, but there were some moments where I questioned what would happen next and looked forward to the next episode. the side romance between Fire and Dynamite was a good addition to the story.
Not Me was my first OffGun series, so it was very strange seeing a different, sweet side of the two actors, especially Off 😂
having seen some of their other shows, I think more serious, emotionally complicated characters suit both Off and Gun’s acting styles better; however, this is a nice fluffy watch for fans of OffGun who want to watch something uncomplicated.

the story, pacing, and actors had me eagerly waiting for every Tuesday to come. While it may have been oversaturated with drama and injuries/violence, each incident was well carried out by the actors and I remained engaged throughout the series. extra props to Gun as Ozone 🤍the finale had me sobbing like a baby and it was a twist that I wasn’t expecting at all. the hints in the second to last episode went well over my head, so I was properly gutted by the ending☹️
many GMMTV shows are a bit predictable, so I enjoyed being completely caught off guard. I highly recommend this series, but do proceed with caution if you don’t like shows with traumatic scenes and sadness.

JimmySea…the cards tell me it’s you
like other reviewers said, this drama has lots of cute and fluffy moments. However, the series isnt lacking in depth! A range of emotions and situations were presented throughout, and it had just enough action and intrigue to keep it from being boring.the highlight was really JimmySea! this is my first JimmySea drama, and both are good actors with great chemistry. Sea in particular did a great job portraying In’s grief.
The countryside location was a beautiful place to film. The interior of In’s house was really interesting and cool as well!
Franc and Save also made a cute couple, although their storyline was very much an afterthought. I look forward to seeing more of them in the future! And I will 100% watch anything that First or Junior act in, so it was great to see them as side characters.
Overall this series is a good pick for a casual weekend binge. it has all the right elements for a good story without being too heavy. I’ll likely rewatch it in the future for that reason!

One of the best BLs I’ve seen
the directing, acting, plot, and soundtrack of this series are incredibly well done, especially compared to other GMMTV shows I’ve watched. I am anticipating Burnout Syndrome (same director and lead actors) with high hopes!this show has indie vibes, which makes sense based on the director’s prior works. it was interesting and refreshing to see something less mainstream coming from GMMTV.
The social justice themes were very fitting for the year 2021, when it seemed that the whole world was protesting what we’d previously put up with. However at times the social justice message felt a little too forced in the main and side storylines—this is my only negative critique of the show.
OffGun really thrived in these roles. White and Sean are complex characters, and they were very well fleshed out by Off and Gun. First’s acting particularly struck me as well!
Overall I highly recommend this series 🤍🖤🤍🖤
