Generally agree with what you said. The writing/costumes really kicks the excitement out of this story.
"I really don't understand the purpose of Dylan's niece." That ends up being the main twist in the whole story that makes everything make sense. I am very hopeful that things get better once her purpose suddenly becomes clear to everyone.
I think you pointed out things that are problems with this drama very well, which is sadly are the common things…
I agree that it's very sad when the characters don't fit their profession. Bei WeiWei from Love O2O is an interesting example because she is depicted twice -- her character is more realistic in the movie than in the drama.
I also agree that the more the profession is promoted, the harder it is to suspend disbelief about the activity. The accuracy of the profession, I feel that most dramas (cDrama or not) struggle. If it's your profession, you know where it fails. I'm a computer geek, and hate the majority of computer science depictions. My medical friends struggle with medical dramas. My veterinarian friends struggle with animal/habitat depictions. I love it when things actually match, but it's much more rare than it should be.

Why do people think this is cute?
(Season 2) 1954-1981, Episodes 21-31, Chinese Communist Revolution, White Terror (Taiwan), Black Bat Squadron, Black Cat Squadron
And it undermines the strides women have made. And it teaches kids the wrong things. But people lap it up, and sadly, directors play to the market.
Thanks for the recommendations!
