That's how it happened in the book though. To me the romance it's bittersweet, we can feel how much they love each…
I'm justifying why I think this series is not as good as people are making it out to be. We are all here giving opinions.

I understand all of that, but it probably works much better on paper than in the actual show. It becomes boring and uninteresting fast. I think this show's runtime is too long for its actual content. Because remember, people sit down and dedicate 1 hour of their day to watch this and this is supposed to be entertainment. But is this really entertaining or is it a drag? To me, it is a drag. Maybe if a viewer absolutely LOVES Earth and just seeing his face on screen is satisfying to them, then this show is perfect for them. Or the same with Mix? Or they loooove watching slow burn in a countryside background... there are many reasons for people to like this, like in everything. But I think that, overall, this show offers way too little to enjoy and no matter if this story is "deep", its characters (with the exception of Tian, maybe) are flat as a plate and offer nothing new or exciting to the narrative.

I am of the same opinion. This episode seemed to me very long and very conventional. And I feel that in the last…
I'm thinking the same. The fact we can predict with certain details what will probably happen next shows that we have seen this same narrative many many many timed before. Maybe they'll surprise us tho? Lol. And yes, I forgot to mention how looong the episode was, my god! That was like a movie!! And it didn't have much going for it, unfortunately.

Well, episode 9 wasn't as bad as episode 8, but this show just doesn't have very good writing and it becomes clear as water when they reached the point where they needed to introduce conflicts. First on episode 8's ridiculous chain of events and then now in episode 9 with these unimaginative always done before reasons as to why the two main leads that like each other can't stay together. Yawn. Also, it would be more impactful if they actually lived a romance before all of this drama, instead of just casual pinning that never went anywhere.

The actors are clearly trying to do their best with the poor screenplay they're given though, so we gotta give credit where it's due.

Idk if you already got your answer, but the timing of XYH's confession wasn't really the best. They have a competition…
It's not only that but also the fact that Zi Xuan's sister also likes Yu Hao and Zi Xuan, as someone with a "sister complex", wouldn't accept having feelings and even worse, "stealing" someone from his beloved sister. In a live the actor that plays Zi Xuan (Zach Lu) said that his character likes Yu Hao from the very beginning, so it's like "love at first sight" from him, and if you watch the series knowing that you'll actually notice that. So Zi Xuan was probably planning on keeping his feelings to himself in favor of his sister, but Yu Hao confessing to him made it all much harder, especially right before they had an important match to play.

About the series ratings: in just a few hours the series received several scores 1. It can only mean one thing:…
It miiiight have something to do with a sequel of a very beloved Thai BL with a very dedicated or, let's say, obsessed fanbase, that just started airing recently and hasn't been getting very positive reception from the public. They could be the ones trying to ruin the score of this series due to, well, jealousy.

This wasn't very good.

For one, I couldn't get past Tony Labrusca's lowkey terrible acting, which made it hard for me to connect with almost everything in this show. Not only that, I think it's just very "slow". The scenes are too long and very dependent on emotional rawness and good acting performances to sell them since the show decided to take that approach, which is completely fine and would have worked wonderfully if the actors were all at least in the same level as JC Alcantara, who impressed me a lot several times. It's not the case tho, so everything falls flat and at the end of each episode I felt like nothing had happened. Episodes 6 and 7 were probably the best.

Overall, I couldn't connect with anything apart from Mico's character and that "saved" the show for me. This currently has a 8.6 here, super high and only 0.1 point lower than staples such as He's Coming to Me and Crossing the Line, which is kinda ridiculous.
