I really liked it as well! It was a no-cut scene, right? I really like those. I haven't liked Zhe Yu much before,…
Wish they would have focused more on them in this season, instead of dedicating screentime to that other couple. They could've served some lighthearted moments that would make a good contrast with the serious tones of the main couple. Instead, both pairings were too serious and overdramatic and the whole thing became a bit too monotonous.
You ask people to do not compare between ITSAY and ATOTS. But, did you realise, even you, yourself just make a…
I'm sorry, this age demographic thing doesn't convince me one bit. My criticism towards 1000 Stars is not because it's supposedly targeted towards older people (it isn't, BL shows are primarily targeted towards teenage girls), but because its writing, pacing, characterizations, conflits and resolutions are poor from a storytelling standapoint. You can't excuse a poorly written show by saying that it's supposed to be targeted towards x or y. A well written show is a well written show, despite who it's targeted at.
Also, I didn't really compare these shows in my comment? I described them both. Describing two different shows in two following sentences doesn't mean comparing them. I was actually saying they are not comparable by pointing out how different they are from each other and the reason why I did that was because I have seen many people putting them in the same box, when they aren't in the same box.
And of course people have their own taste, that's what I said in my comment too! I was just talking from a more storyline/writing analyzing view instead of just prefering this or that. There are many cases of things that are better written than others but they're just not for us (like the comment above, for instance), so we prefer the one thing that might not have better writing/directing/production, but that pleases us more. I know taste is subjective, but I don't think quality is.
Only 3 more episodes left to watch but I gotta admit I'm a lot underwhelmed. The rating did get me thinking that…
Yes, it's not really different from many other thai BLs we've seen so far. It just happens in a different location. I think the premise and the different location sells it for a lot of people but as a tv show and an entertainment product, it is indeed nothing special.
I see a lot of people comparing this show to ITSAY. Maybe it's because ITSAY became the standart of high quality in the thai BL landascape. I've seen many saying this one is better too! Honestly, while I think ITSAY can get a bit overrated by people (it happens when we like something a lot), it's just on another level when compared to other shows and that includes this one. I mean, ITSAY is a very unique show overall, not only in its productions quality, but also in its portrayal of young self discovery, young love, struggles with self acceptance, family relations etc etc. It focuses first and foremost on its characters and their emotions. 1000 Stars has nothing really unique outside of the aesthetics. It's the same old GMMTV BL show, with the same tired cliches and lazy narratives, but this time in the jungle.
Ofc you can like this show more. It might be more of you alley. But please, don't compare grape juice to fine wine!
Aww you've been noticing my comments uwu Good to know it's getting attention. Yes I'm pretty salty. No I won't move on. I will keep making my comments on this page whenever I feel like it and if you want to keep replying to them, feel comfortable to do so! If you also want to discuss the show and show me why this is sooooooo amazing as its being claimed here, I would love to hear as well.
I thought the storytelling was weak, the characters were all bland (outside of Tian, sorta), the pacing was inconsistent, the conflicts were unbased and unimaginative, the writers relied too much on tired and predictable cliches to put a storyline together, too much redundancy. Overall, it didn't feel romantic to me, it also didn't feel emotional (it was too forced), didn't feel sad. I only really felt sad for Torfun, such a good young woman had to die for this bland story to happen :/
It's really sad that people don't seem to care about the writing of a show they're watching. It's all about the aesthetics. Some genuinely well written shows with character complexity will get a 9/10 at most from these people just because "it's a school/uni show" or because it has a simple premise, while this wack show will get 10/10's raining over it just because the production staff took the camera to the jungle.
What's more irritating about this show getting so much praise and this super high score on this website is that screenwriters and television producers see this and think they can keep serving this level of mediocrity and people will still love it and think it's some high art. All they have to do is put it in a different ambientation than usual and create an interesting premise (that will be used to justify a series of underwhelming and uninteresting plots).
Ugh, I hate Earth Pirapat.. Should I still watch this? Is it THAT good?
It's not a good show at all, but Earth's character is just a little more than a mere extra with more screentime lol. Mix (the other actor) serves a good performance.
At this point I'm just feeling some sheep mentality going on. Everyone is claiming this is the best thing ever but I still have not seen one real reason as to why someone would consider it as such. There are sooo many other shows out there that deserve this praise and do not receive it. And I notice that people are actually critical about other recent shows like Lovely Writer, WBL2, To My Star and You Make Me Dance. But with this show it's only overwhelming praise. I don't get it. What's so incredible about it to deserve such praise?
That's how it happened in the book though. To me the romance it's bittersweet, we can feel how much they love each…
You can just ignore my passive agressiveness, it's not that hard. You're calling me out because you got bothered by what I wrote and you most likely fit into one of those descriptions. Instead of using your energy to isolate the passive agressive tones in my comments, why don't you try to look deeper into your show and recognize the several problems in it?

Looool who are you to moderate what I say or do not say? Are you the author of this show or smth? I understand being protective of smth you like but chill a bit. I don't owe you nothing. And I ain't here for explaining myself to you. I'm here for giving criticism to this overrated show that, yes, people seem to be loving for whatever reasons and not because it's a "mastepiece", "BEST BL EVER", because it's not even a little bit close to that.
