Based on a webtoon of the same name, “Covet the Scholar, Princess” is a classic historical romance that combines court intrigue with political storytelling.
As the two fall in love without foreseeing what lies ahead, the story evokes a “Joseon-era Romeo and Juliet.”
Discussions are currently underway regarding its broadcast channel.
Yoo Tae Oh has been offered a lead role alongside Shin Min Ah and Lee Jin Wook. He will play the role of Lee Won Pil in the drama and is currently in discussions about appearing.
Season 2 is currently filming and is set to premiere on Coupang Play in the second half of 2026.
Veteran actors Park Ho-san, Jeon Hye-jin, Kang Ki-young, Baek Joo-hee, Shin Sung-min, and Lee Joong-ok join the cast, forming a massive and more complex evil force that will pressure Yeong-su’s family far beyond what was seen in Season 1.

tvN’s 20th anniversary special drama “The Second Signal” (hereafter “Signal 2”) has ultimately been dropped from its planned June and summer schedule. Instead, Apple TV+’s series “Pachinko” will be additionally scheduled as a replacement.

Industry insiders say the network is still discussing the possibility of broadcasting it later in the second half of the year or toward the end of the year.
