I'm not seeing much talk about the production value of the show. You can tell from the teaser and the trailer that they've put a lot of money into this show. Not only is it shot in 4K, the scenes are lit and color graded properly. It reminds me of the care that was put into ITSAY. Production value is often overlooked but can make a great show even greater

Really?
Yeah. JayBL on Twitter translated parts of the novel and did summaries for each chapter and they were saying that none of what happens in episode 8 is in the novel.

What do "SJWs" have to do with anything? The people vocal about what they dislike aren't by proxy SJWs. That term…
Trust me, I do not need a primer on the term SJW or it’s history. You defend this show as if you have a personal or financial stake in it. You simply must find a better use of your time. Do not respond as I will not read it. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Solipsism5 made a noble effort, but SJWs never learn. Still thick as pigshit, still going on about the non-existent…
What do "SJWs" have to do with anything? The people vocal about what they dislike aren't by proxy SJWs. That term has been so twisted online that it's now become a prominent dog whistle.

Doesn't HIStory1 feature a story about a woman trapped in a man's body whose goal is to make her boyfriend fall…
MODC was written by the same author as HIStory4. And you may want to check the way themes, tropes, characterization and story were used and layered in the previous iterations again, because they are not the same.

All good :) I hope you have a wonderful day!

This show flies in the face of what the HIStory franchise was created to do: Show same sex attracted men and their relationships in a positive light where they are not fetishized, or played up for tropes. I wouldn’t want any queer people, especially queer youth, to ingest this media, take it at face value and internalize it’s many problematic facets.

I just don't get you. How are you so offended about the "love" between the two brother but y'all still liked ADDICTED????…
Similar trope used in different ways. In Addicted, they became brothers as they were basically adults and had not grown up together. HIStory4 has so large an age gap that not only did the “brothers” grow up together, they would have formed an older sibling, younger sibling bond that should not have led to romantic love. Then to top it off, they at one point, have the older and firmly gay brother think that he influenced his younger brother into being gay/ having feelings for him, which stems from a homophobic media trope.
On Call It What You Want Apr 17, 2021
The hate that people have for this show and its director intrigues me. Partially because the pitchforks are often put away when it comes to companies, producers, etc who have actually hurt people and their careers, but seem to be so readily available for someone whose main issue is a "bad online personality".

Aren’t they playing Amazing Grace?
I always thought it was about the same thing until I found out that the lyrics are supposed to be “Eily dear” when a man is singing it but no one ever sings it that way lol Then again, the lyrics are kind of left open to interpret it any way you want

Aren’t they playing Amazing Grace?
Oh, those parts! lol sorry. Danny Boy is about love and loss. Some interpret it as a song about a dying man saying goodbye to his gay lover. That kind of fits in with the themes and events of the movie. Especially since the priest dying at the end is what brings them both to Montreal at the same time. And the talk in the office takes place after their big fight, so I could see Jia Han feeling like he’s lost his lover.

Aren’t they playing Amazing Grace?
Like in the cemetery scene at the beginning? Or during the scene at the reunion? I think those are both Amazing Grace

Loved this film. The actors did a great job and so many shots, especially of Chang Jia Han staring off into space…

It's almost impossible, but I am trying hard not to assume every drama or movie a previous or current BL actor…
I think we, the fans and the actors, have to be honest with ourselves. If an actor, production company, management team, etc doesn’t want to do BL, they don’t really have to. I’ve seen plenty of Thai actors who get by without touching a BL role. But they don’t want to be type-casted while also reaping the benefits of the BL fans/industry. They’re trying to hold on while dragging us along, and I think that’s unfair. They made sure to tell us this show wasn’t BL and then proceeded to stock it with major BL actors from the past and present and a well known BL director. That’s not an accident, they’re hoping the BL audience will support the project without having to actually give us a BL plot line. It’s really frustrating to see queer stories and characters used in this way.

Title Oh, Mando!
I have no sympathy for Krisha at all. That's what she gets for trying to force a relationship with a guy who already…
Thank you! I was hoping someone would say it! I feel bad for Krisha but she isn’t completely off the hook either. Mando clearly told her he wasn’t interested, multiple times, and yet she pushed the issue until he caved and gave in. No means no; it doesn’t mean keep trying until I say yes.
