Article A Film Guide: The Works of Hirokazu Koreeda
I'm so glad to hear that he's working on something new even though I still haven't even seen all of his released films yet. I discovered him quite recently actually. I was writing a Film Studies paper last week and it was on The Maze Runner and it felt really...shallow so the night before it was due, I scrapped that and decided to watch Nobody Knows on a whim because I stumbled on it while browsing through Netflix. It was the first Koreeda movie that I've ever seen and honestly, I fell so deeply in love with the film. It honestly doesn't surprise me that I'm writing another paper on one of his films (Like Father, Like Son) right now. After this, I have to see everything else he has done, I think. Both movies were around two hours long and honestly I've never felt two hours go by so fast even though the movies are considered to be slow in pace. He's just phenomenal and refined as a director! I'm a new fan! :- )
