What a great drama! I'm fascinated by the political machinations of choosing a king, and just how powerless the king really is during the decline of Joseon. As an American, I'm very interested in the Cheoljong and Gojong reigns and the impact of Western influence. I have mixed feelings on the trend to shorten the episodes for Kdramas. This one seems to be skipping whole segments of character development (such as a fuller explanation of just why Bong Ryeon is sent to the Kim family and why the Kims can get away with branding her like that). Some dramas/romcoms can be told in 16-20 episodes. This one needs more to do justice to the story and historical significance of it.
he also recently said some disgusting things in an interview for this drama...so sometimes you just can't separate…
If you are going to use quotation marks, at least get the quotes right. He did a play on her word "reveal" after she asked if any one else wanted to field the question. You strike me as the kind of woman who yells, "Sexual assault!" if a man compliments you.
I completely agree with renna and if I can add my 2 cents here we girls can't let these type of attitudes slide…
First, let me say how sorry I am that you had to suffer such an ordeal. Secondly, let me say I admire how strong a person you seem to be despite what you endured.
I learned of this scandal a few years back and read the articles you cited. My conclusion is Park Shi Hoo is guilty of being stupid, nothing more. When a person cries, "Rape!" without evidence that crime occurred, it makes it more difficult for the next actual rape victim to be believed. Here in America, we recently had a nominee for our Supreme Court shredded for all the world to see because a woman made unsubstantiated claims. Even after her claims were debunked, there was still a group who simply refused to accept it because "all women should be believed." I think the same is happening here- no matter what evidence is shown to the contrary, there's a group of netizens who will follow every thing PSH does, twist every word he utters, just so they keep that drumbeat of "rapist" going.
To me it's just sad to live such a hate-filled life.
He was caught on CCTV carrying an unconscious woman to his room. I don't know what more evidence you want but…
She admitted to attempted blackmail. Sorry, but I don't believe a woman just on her say-so. Just accept both were stupid. Here in America, there were black men lynched because women made claims. Two Supreme Court Justices tarnished because women made claims.
I am counting the days for "Wind and Cloud and Rain"! Park Shi Hoo is one of my favorites. I really wish his bio would be updated, though. His rape allegations were just that- allegations, with the complaint withdrawn when her posts admitting blackmail were exposed. That allegation cost us years of enjoying his work.
Oh my god..You guys are solely looking at the drama as if it was not based on a novel! Read the novel first! From…
I loved Season 2 and it's killing me to wait for Season 3. Frankly, I started to really dislike Ning Que in season 1. Even after he chose her over Shan Shan (after realizing she was his birth object), he still dismissed her importance. It wasn't until he was afraid that she had died that he woke up. Season 1 was all about him getting his revenge, no matter what. Season 2, he's lost that driving force and so now what? He's not able to live the life he wanted with Sang Sang because she's sick, and then they're being chased from one place to another. He's overprotective of Sang Sang because he doesn't understand what's really happening to her. I wish Fu Zi had told him flat-out what was going on, but he was using Sang Sang as much as Heavenly Maid was.
I loved season 1. been putting off watching this because of all the negative feedback. sigh
Don't be fooled. A lot of the negativity stems from the change in cast and the evolution of the characters themselves. People expected Ning Que to be the same as he was in the 1st season- all attitude and bravado. He's been weakened by his fight with Xia Huo and his birth object, Sang Sang, nearly died. He's also having to deal with a changed reality. While he was weakened, his enemies got stronger. Season 2 takes a lot more thought, and patience, than season 1. Dylan Wang is great as Ning Que, but it is heart-breaking to see what Sang Sang has to face.
I hope they stick with Dylan Wang. He did a great job being cold-hearted when he needed to be and warm-hearted. I don't think Chen would have done as well as Wang.
He is different because of character development, his situation is completely different compared to season one.…
People seem to forget that he did a lot of damage to himself in his fight with Xia Hou, especially since he was barely able to cultivate in the first place. Also, his birth object, Sang Sang- the one who gives him strength- almost died and hasn't recuperated. And then that d&@ned Heavenly Maiden gets in the act to suck Sang Sang dry. People expected Ning Que to be unchanged by what happened to him and remain the cocky self-centered juvenile he was in Season 1. Frankly, I thought he was a jerk who never really appreciated Sang Sang, even after he learned she was his birth object.
Watching Season 1 again reminded me of details that enhanced Season 2. Just don't get hung up on the cast change! For me, Dylan Wang makes a better Ning Que.
Has to be season three the story is about to get really good the big fight coming for humans I enjoyed this season…
Arthur Chen could play the swelled-headed Ning Que who was concerned about his own needs and wants, but I don't think he could have carried the role of the changed NQ as well as Dylan Wang did. I hope Wang comes back for the 3rd installment.
The lead in this is not good enough to replace the guy in the first season.
I don't think Arthur Chen could have pulled off this more mature, softer Ning Que. I can see Dylan Wang as NQ in EN1. I can't see Chen as NQ in season 2. Unfortunately too many people dissed EN2 for the change in cast and never gave it a chance.
I don't know but when he looks at Mo shan shan he looks at her with love and with sang sang I don't see that look…
I see Ning Que sees ShanShan as that "first crush," the one you have before you really understand what love is. Even in EN1 when he chose SangSang over ShanShan, he didn't fully understand that SangSang was his very life, until he thought he'd lost her. While I was waiting for Viki to sub the last few episodes, I re-watched EN1. I was reminded how very much I disliked Ning Que for his treatment of Sang Sang, like she was some kind of burden. EN2 finds him in a rather a desperate situation, hunted down with a sick Sang Sang, a Sang Sang who seems to be losing touch with reality. I was really irritated at Fu Zi for not telling him straight out what was going on. Seemed like Fu Zi was using the two of them for his own purposes, without really caring about either. We really need that season 3!
