LBY and his "mom" in reality his aunt know but they've been pretending so that LBY can seek revenge for their families massacre. LBY has been trying to find evidence to prove what happened. He saw Ling Yi murder his father. His aunt saved him and was able to pretend he was her son because her real son was murdered. They accidentally killed her son thinking he was LBY. After his aunt dies it pushes him deeper.

I agree. Yes! They spent 3 years working on the script. The novel has 120 chapters so to condense it all into 32 episodes they spent time to adjust and draft multiple times. Even while filming the worker went on strike for May day and they added that into the play with the factory workers. They tried to make it relatable, realistic, & inspiring. They definitely succeeded. There were so many lessons throughout the drama.

Her dad actually said the same thing in the novel! A lot of the lines word for word are from the novel. Even when he asked if he could kiss her lol. TSY & LGX were perfect for the roles. They brought the characters to life & stayed true to the description from the novel. I'm old than them too.
