Who ends up with who? Please tell who were involved in the love triangle?Any serious fights between the 5 friends?
Maybe writers thought it's better to leave up to the viewers decide themself how he was living since the fanwar was huge back then and many fans were already heartbroken about the fact that junghwan didn't end up with deoksun.
Junghwan as a character is amazing. Cold on the outside but actually so warm inside. This is shown many times throughout the story. He just didn't have the courage to confess to his first love when he still had the chance, that was also bittersweet and very realistic. But as he got to confess to her later, I'm sure that gave him the closure to move on finally.
I could talk about this drama forever, it seems. :D Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I also wish we would have gotten a glimpse of Junghwan and Dong ryeong in their adult lives and their parents! how they were all doing?, but I accept as it is and still feel that it's a very wholesome story overall as it is a story about youth and that place where they all once lived together. β€οΈπ

Dong ryeong had his own business just like jungbong (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) and junghwan as a pilot. That's all we know.
But I think the writer intentionally left those out since mainly the story was about their youth and the time in Ssangmundong. As for them in their 40's I think all of them lead their own lives and might have not been that close anymore, apart from Bora, Sun Woo, No Eul but that's just my interpretation + I think the writer left room for viewers own interpretation here.
The end is very bitterweet, but I still think that it's one of the most well done drama endings ever.

Deok Sun ends up with Taek, Bora with Sun Woo, Maggie with Jungbong. The "love triangle", if there really is one?.. it's between Taek, Deok Sun & Junghwan. And no serious fights with the main characters; one of the reasons that makes this drama the best there is.
She deserves better. He ignores her and lowkey treats her like crap. I hope she tells him to get lost
Exactly. He def. treats her good. As a friend should. Pretty clear he's not romantically interested in her so does that count as treating her like crΓp? Lol with some of these comments on this site.
Love to see a drama about women! Girl power. <3 First 2 eps were so good, and seeing Ra Mi Ran & Kim Sun Young interaction briefly really threw me back to reply 1988 feels. <3
Honestly, there might be a HE for EH and HO but I much rather see EH move on from him first, focus on herself…
Agree. JY & HY just isn't it in the romantic sense, but I love the friendship! HO and EH will get their HE, that's just given. JY will let go of HR eventually, I'm honestly a lil disappointed that he didn't understand EH when she tried to explain. It's true he's hurt, but EH is the one hurting the most so he was being too hard on her, just like he was in the 2nd episode towards HR. I hope all of them heal eventually and JY finds another HR someday, and by this I mean someone who treats him the same way and makes him smile.
