I watched the last episode unsubbed.... and now I'm just like what.....? These poor actors and actresses decided to accept this horrible script. Sun Yi and Jin Han could've have done much better in another better historical script. They're the only saving grace for this drama. If not them, I would have dropped this drama like 5 episodes ago...... :/

Title Twisted Fate of Love Spoiler
The details of this "marriage" are a bit scant; Li Yu Rou is the "madam of the house" but doesn't have the official…
The marriage was never consummated. Ziyuan told Dongyue in episode 12, 13, or 14. It was righ after Feng Xi gave a hairpin to his wife trying to make Dongyue jealous.

Title Twisted Fate of Love Spoiler
Long Rant.... here we go...

Pros of this drama:
1. Cases/problems that arises gets solve quickly (almost too quickly, lol)
2. Lead characters are great
3. Outfits are passable given that this is a made up time period, nothing too flashy
4. In general, the plot sounds like there will be a lot of action and events happening
5. The leads' chemistry and the tension that they build up.

Cons of this drama:
1. The plot seems like its progressing, but at the same time like its not....? (if you watch it, you'll understand what I'm saying. lol)
2. I'll just say the romance in this drama is a really acquired type of romance depending on the type of person watching it. I am keen of the portrayal of romance in this drama(I'll explain later), but I can definitely see why some viewers despise this type of romance.
3. The FL's character is questionable of right now (ep. 14)..... The actress is great, I have seen her works in other projects, but the script for this FL is just lack luster in some way..... More on this later.
4. By reading the summary, I assume that you will be expecting something heavy hearted and angsty. However, the overall tone and color grading used in this drama brings out a really light and fluffy feeling to it. Even the clothes are pastel and bright which contributes to the overall tone of the drama. For an example, Royal Nirvana is a drama with great wardrobe that sets the tone of the drama on a more serious note. I guess this is why this drama is considered an idol drama. :/
5. I love political drama, and I can see that this drama tries to make it political. However, it seems very amateurish. The script and events tends to be very predictable.

About the romance between the main leads, I can see both sides of those who like it (like myself) and those who don't. In the first episode, the ML killed the FL. Later on, he manipulated her into his schemes and then whipped her which caused her physical pain (I guess you can count emotional too, but I don't think she really loved him at the point so it's quite minor). He becomes possessive with her by targeting Third Prince so that she can go live with him at his manor. These are the major points that I see people commenting on why they don't agree with this type of romance between the two leads because it can breed toxicity. I, however, see that the ML actions can be justified in retrospect. In the first episode, he did kill her because with her existence his revenge plan will be messed up. He cannot let his years of hard work spoil just because of a person who cannot plan an assassination on Lu Yuantong adequately. And plus, she was just a stranger to him, so he cared less about her dying or not. However, once he knew he had feelings for her, in episode 13, he tricked her into thinking that he was a thief/bandit of some sort so that she will attack him and possibly kill him. This was his way of allowing her to kill him as a payback for what he did to her in the first episode. Fortunately/unfortunately, she did not kill him. Instead, they had a makeout session. lol.
About him whipping her, that was never in his original scheme. He manipulated her, yes. However, the situation got out of control because he didn't expect the minister to coerce Mingzhu/Ziyuan to implicate the FL into Minister An's fake treason. So, in order to save her life, he decided that a wound that she can quickly heal will be much more beneficial than letting her losing her life over something she did not do. He went with the option that is the greater good. And by whipping her, it became a blessing in disguise. He was able to elevate her position into a respectable one even though she did nothing.... basically. It was killing two birds with one stone.
His possessiveness of her and love for her can be a little overbearing, that part I understand. It is so overbearing that I feel like there will be some trust issues later on. So, I have no comment on that part other than hopefully, they have trust in each other. The only reason I can see why he want her by his side other than love is that he knows that they share the same goal, and that is to kill Lu Yuantong.

Okay, the FL character is not consistent. I think everyone's question is how in the world did she become a general? If it is later revealed in future episodes that she just coincidentally got the title because no one wants to fight for the dying kingdom anymore, then that will be believable and consistent. However, if it is revealed that she obtained that title because she was smart and outstanding, then I don't know what to say. lol. Like, I have mixed feelings for the FL. She is not smart, but is not dumb to the point where you want her character to just die off. She is able to deduct possibilities and solutions to a problem., but its nothing worth applauding for because she is always behind the ML. Maybe its the script and the execution of the drama that is making her character lack luster and "meh". Honestly, I'm just continuing the drama because of Sun Yi (FL), the romance, and the ending credit song. lol.
