i just wanna clear up that this isn't zuho's first acting gig--he's appeared in many dramas and tv shows before…
"Do you think maybe it's a case where BL's truly do help the idol's career, but the idols and their agents are still stuck in the mindset of a decade ago? Is it a case where they have simply not kept with the times and thus don't realize that BL's can actually help their careers?"
Yes, being stuck in the past is a part of it, as is the stigma that is around the genre as well. as much as we may like it and be fans of it, it's still not as mainstream as something like, say, heterosexual romance. for some actors (like the ones u mentioned), it helps them greatly, but for some others, it probably doesn't help any or that much. (like holland, the out korean singer/actor, still experiences hate crimes and gay bashing and it's so infuriating...)
LOL, the rating dropped from a 7.7 to a 7.0 in two days. I can't say I disagree. It started strong and I liked…
i just wanna clear up that this isn't zuho's first acting gig--he's appeared in many dramas and tv shows before this one so i dont think it's him necessarily breaking into acting so much as wanting to try a different genre, i suspect, but this is me only speculating, i dont know zuho's reasoning for why he picked this gig. (seo han joon's actor is the new comer, i believe)
but i agree idols shouldn't be in BLs unless they're totally comfortable with kissing and intimacy because it's 2023 already and we fans have high expectations. also, i've heard that zuho had to defend his appearing in a BL at all, never mind kissing, so there's def. some politics at play here, which i hate.
What other strongberry works have you seen? Any of these?1) Long Time No See2) As If You Whisper3) Secret Roommate
um, just wanted to say Where Your Eyes Linger isn't a strongberry production--it's a viki original. still good! but it's nice to give the proper production the credit.
