Why do some people feel bad it's ranked #1? 1 Liter of Tears, Gaksital and Reply 1997 are all of different genres…
High five, unnie~!
You know, unnie, even though they are completely different, I felt like I could relate to both dramas. And this is saying it in an Asian's point of view.
Gaksital showed that side of history that any Filipino can relate to because we went through a similar kind of experience during WWII. I'm a big fan of nationalistic historical dramas and Gaksital is one of the best I've seen!
I am personally attached to Reply 1997 because it reminded me so much of my teen years. In high school we kept the weirdest of all hairstyles. I appreciate their use of Satoori because the tone sounded like a dialect I learned up North when I went to college.
I had my share of fangirling--I still do WITH my kids now--and I'm pretty sure my husband can relate to Yoon Jae's feelings about Tony. It's as real as it gets and really felt like an honest to goodness growing-up drama.
... writing about the possibilties of war between the two countries. And this is what makes this drama completly…
really great points. I found myself thinking the same thing while watching the drama. Shunji's transformation really left a deep impression--Park Ki Woong was both scary and awesome.
On a higher level, Gaksital stirs a sense of nationalism that other dramas weren't able to do (or I haven't watched them yet). I will never look at a potato the same way again. :)

And don't let the thread bother you. Normal lang yan among people who think that one of the best dramas for you is not exactly the best drama for them. Sa ken lang, hindi mo siya maiko-compare sa Gaksital dahil Gaksital is a historical drama at ang Reply 1997 ay isang light teen/growing-up drama. 10 sila pareho para sa akin.
Why do some people feel bad it's ranked #1? 1 Liter of Tears, Gaksital and Reply 1997 are all of different genres so why compare them? It was an easy 10 for me because watching it was a breeze and brought a lot of memories. I appreciated that it was closer to reality than what most high school/teen dramas out there that were hyped for fanservice.
I don't mind it's ranked first. I wouldn't mind if Gaksital reclaimed the spot either! What's the big deal anyway?
I personally like Dream High 1's soundtrack. Those duet acapellas were so good, it's such a waste they didn't make them full covers of the original songs. Plus, you have got to love IU's voice.
Sungkyunkwan Scandal has great songs too including instrumentals.
For instrumentals, City Hunter had the best drum beats while TMEtS' flute and stringed instrumentals can really get you into a melancholic mood.
Reply 1997 also offers a lot of sound from the 90s decade with some cool remakes and a few originals. I have yet to see SUFBB, heard lots of rave about the OST.

Hotness si Seo In Guk. Period.

Annyeong! Wala. Nagpapaka-domestic nanay. XD Kaka-hire lang sa 'ken sa work...
Eto nga may hang-over ako sa Gaksital at Reply 1997. Hindi ako makapag-move on sa mga bagong drama. T_T I need something funny. OB na nga isusunod ko. Ikaw ba, anong pinapanood mo??
Compared to 1 Litre of Tears where the ending makes you sigh with relief that watching it is finally over,Gaksital leaves a completely different feeling--that even though it's over, it really is just the beginning. Like a dawning of hope that we will rise above any obstacle.
Did I mention I love the besties' conflict? Lee Kang To and Kimura Shunji rocked this drama!

Oh wow. Q_Q! That'd be awesome. Only skilled actors can convincingly portray people with such conditions.
I want to check it out but I'm taking a step back because Park Si Yeon. -__-'

I haven't yet. I'll add that along with The Musical! I've only seen him in a movie (My Tutor Friend II) before Gaksital and his character there is 180-degrees the opposite of Kimura Shunji!
Though you know, for me, Shunji is his best portrayal yet! ^_^
Wow, banggapsumnida, fellow Reply 1997 bbasoonie! :*

After seeing Kang Sora on DH2, I could only hope she doesn't disappoint me in Sunny.
