😂 Oh dear, I feel you. If Chen Xiao wasn't so handsome, I would not have lasted two episodes.

One of the dramas I would consider, 'Not for Everbody.' I saw this among the popular drama line up on iQiyi.

But interestingly enough, I didn't start watching until I saw a clip on YT showing Yimei and Li Cheng. Their appearances are short yet meaningful.

However, the drama goes on and beyond their timeline.

For me, who knows little about Chinese history, this was eye-opening. And after just finishing it, I feel I gained a lesson or two in history (and economics--I did not expect it!).

Not a fan of it either, haha. I focused on what was happening, and they were a lot! Hope that helped you overlook their, uh, 'braided queue.'

How my admiration for Lin Zequi grew as the drama progressed. Low-key, calm, steady, and sturdy. He and Jin Baihui really did steal the romantic plot.

It's okay, I'm fine on VIP subscription. Been on it since the pandemic.

Although I like Bai Lu, I gotta say I am watching this for Ou Hao because he made an impression on TTL.

Such a gem of a drama. Fantastic acting, historical setting, and the characters are such complex creatures.

Three things I want to say about this:

Not your fluffy, fantasy Cdrama.
Not for everybody.
This is what it means to be dirt poor. Literally and figuratively.

Been waiting a couple of days for Ep 33 to drop. iQiyi did not update on Friday and over the weekend. It kept on promoting Premium VIP. I'm gonna hold off watching until all four remaining episodes are released.

Somebody tell me. Is this a remake of the Taiwanese one? Eddie Peng was unforgettable in that one.

Haven't gotten back to watching this drama because honestly, it bored me. Not so stellar performance for ZLH here. Skip this and watch Princess Royal instead. Same FL and ML, and at least they have good interaction and a little 'depth' of character portrayal from ZLH.

After watching several transmigration vertical dramas and learning about 1983 in iQiyi, I really was excited for this.

Loving it so far! I hope iQiyi won't cut the daily episode release from two to one just like what they did in Pursuit of Jade.

First time noticing Deng Kai in Pursuit of Jade. Talk about intense!

The gaze and slight touch Qi Min gave Qianqian made the hair at the back of my head stand up. *shivers*

Still sizing him up (Qi Min), whether he's a good guy or a bad one. Not a fan of him bullying his son though but it does make him a good villain. I am so torn it's ridiculous. He's a good actor and I like him so bad. 😩

This was surprisingly good for a vertical drama. The chemistry between leads felt like a warm budding feeling until it became smoldering and passionate. Loved Liu Xiao Xu in this. He was supposed to be stoic in this. Oh, but when he loses it, his eyes and his face just says it all.More dramas like this, please!
