Friends

I just love the friendships in this so much. The way the three of them found out seperatly about her being a woman,…
Honestly I just think the show is so cute and wholesome. If you want to watch something light with A+ friendships, please give this a try.

Title In a Class of Her Own Spoiler
I just love the friendships in this so much. The way the three of them found out seperatly about her being a woman, but instead of making it a big deal (and telling others), they pretended not to know because they knew she didn’t want them to know. They also did everything in their power to make sure other people wouldn’t notice. They don’t even ask questions, and the one time they do talk about it to each other, they’re so vague that anyone that could accidentally overhear their conversation probably wouldn’t know what’s going on. Their friendship is just great. I especially loved Lexuan and how he really seemed to be there for everyone, and everyone ended up being there for him as well. I do think the ML is a bit weak in comparison to the other leads, but I still liked his character enough. It’s just such a cozy watch tbh.

The old man's role was very predictable, too, but what frustrated me most was the detective. What was the point…
Honestly the more I think about it the more the characters seem incredibly lazily written

Yea that was what I was confused about as well. He clearly didn’t go missing since entering the game in 2015, so perhaps he came back after winning those games and just became the frontman for the games in 2021 (which does really raise the question “why?” which is never answered). But then you’d think he’d at least tell his family something along the lines of “I’m going on a business trip” because if he was close enough with them to give his brother a kidney, it’s pretty normal his family would notice he disappeared and go looking for him.

I fully agree. Tbh the detective had no personality at all either. WHJ did the best he could and it wasn’t his fault, but the character barely had anything going on. The frontman being his brother didn’t even seem relevant in the slightest to whatever was happening in the show.

I find it difficult to have a lot of empathy towards the characters considering they willingly join the game knowing full well what will happen. I do feel bad about their situations and what drove them to join, and some characters truly broke my heart (like Sae Byoek), but many just did nothing for me. Obviously only one person can win, meaning everyone else will die. Gi Hoon wasn’t even a good father tbh, especially with the ending. (Not to mention, what was he thinking with the gun present? Surely there were other things you can buy for a child with the 10.000 won he spent on the claw machines). The show itself was alright but the characters were very lacking to me.

Easily the worst part. You could cut them out and the story wouldn't be affected. They are so useless
Definitely. Every time they opened their mouths i just got taken out of my immersion in the show

The first episode sure was... a lot. I’m not sure yet if that’s good or not, or how to feel about all the fantasy and CGI elements, but I am intrigued to see how the next episode will go

Thanks for letting us know, too. While the drama was airing, I was checking Spotify all the time. The OSTs were…
You’re welcome! I was constantly checking as well, so I’m very happy they decided to make it available, even 4 months later
On River Where the Moon Rises Aug 13, 2021
I was losing hope the OST would ever be available internationally on online streaming platforms but almost 4 months after the final episode and it’s on apple music/spotify/youtube music now! (Or at least where I am). Super glad to see it, Against the Wind and Tears of the Moon are some of my all-time favourite kdrama OSTs!

I so agree! When I started it, I did not expect anything like that at all. Best sisters-in-law ever! And when…
for sure! I initially had quite low expectations, but I ended up being really blown away

I feel like this show really had an impact on me not only as a woman, but especially as a wlw. If you’re looking for a show with strong female leads, sapphic representation, or just women genuinely supporting each other, please give this one a try! Especially in later episodes, there were so many moments that made my heart swell.

Does anyone know if/when the soundtrack will be available on online music streaming platforms? The ost slaps but I've been keeping an eye out on apple music and spotify in my region without any luck
