I cried my heart out at Ruan Ruan's death... she really was such an angel but how I wish she would just leave…
She really could have treated herself better, much better than how she treated the people around her

Goddamn, rated 9.1? I hope the score is not as inflated as the other cdramas.
I actually think it's rated lower than it should be! This drama for sure deserves every bit of the hype it gets.

I chose to start watching this drama not long after My Unicorn girl and realised the FL is the same. She's good…
Hmmm... let's just say she has the "curse of genderbending" after playing two male characters in the Wuxin series ??

I think the original novel is unfinished? Or if it is... the ending certainly felt abrupt... and i'm pretty sure…
I just checked the author out on jjwxc and turns out I left out on one of the stories... I think the author meant for it to be episodic so the ending doesn't tie things up very well. But since WCKT is a scriptwriter for the drama, I hope we get a proper ending this time.

And I've rarely heard of actresses being involved in the script as well! I just assumed it was a different Chen Yao because that was quite uncommon to me lol

hmmm the cases are solved at breakneck speed so I suppose thats where the abruptness comes from... all three stories are pretty short but I don't think there was one I liked in particular... they don't focus on the romance as much as the drama does either. You can check out the Su Ci series on jjwxc if you're interested in it.

The FL now has 2 pretty highly rated dramas airing! Haven't seen her works before so contemplating to catch one…
I recommend the wu xin series. Season 1 for the best storytelling, S2 if you don't mind her playing a male character, and S3 if you enjoy historical dramas. I'd say S1 is my favourite, but her S2's character is my favourite. To each their own though...

I mean Chen Yao isn't really a newbie (a lot of people really started liking her from Wuxin the Monster Killer…
Yea agreed. I think its the lack of interesting female lead characters in general. Especially in a show like Wu Xin where he's the centre of the story, Yue Ya's more like a love interest used to drive the rivalry between him and YQL. I think Yue Ya's still my fav female lead in the whole series though.

As a fan of hers, I admittedly prefer her supporting characters to her leading characters. She's a lot more appealing in eccentric roles like the ones in the wuxin series, but her leading characters pale in comparison.

I feel like chen yao has improved her acting here
i think she's always been pretty good, especially in supporting roles, but it's refreshing to see a comedic side of her

Hello does anyone have a secret how to differentiate the 2 twins? Thanks :0)
the easiest would be the dubbing: qing luan female and xuan hu male. qing luan is bright, courageous, and naive, while xuan hu is scheming and pretty much hates everyone. XH never smiles, and even if he does, it's insincere.

I think Season 3's ending is really up to your own interpretation. The most straightforward explanation would…
Apparently Tangren Media bought rights to 4 productions! The last might be a movie though. I really hope this ties up all the plot holes and gives us a good ending to the whole series. Of course with as many of the original cast as possible heh.

Speaking of Bai Liuli, I remember being angry at him for destroying Yue Ya's drawings lol... but after watching all 3 seasons it makes even more sense for him to do so.

Qing Luan and Xuan Hu are the twins from the second book! Their personalities are different though... the female lead in the second book didn't love Wu Xin unlike QL. Also, ditto to making us think a lot more lol
