Finished the entire season 3 but I'm left with a few questions.1. We can obviouly see that Wu Xin has his fate…
I think Season 3's ending is really up to your own interpretation. The most straightforward explanation would be that Xuan Hu's soul rejoins Qing Luan's soul when she passes away (since they were originally meant to be one entity), and together, the two souls are reincarnated. Yue Qi Luo might be a reincarnation of the twins, that's why she obsesses over Wu Xin (similar to how Qing Luan loves him), but also hates him as well (like how Xuan Hu does). As for the red cloak, I think it's just fanservice and a casual nod to YQL's popularity lol. I'd even go as far to say that it's a promotional tactic to pull in viewership, because of how popular the character is.

As for Bai Liuli, it's never really explained what he actually is. He's introduced as a fashi in Ep18 tho, so that might be a clue? Not too sure. He does take the form of a snake, and a chicken as well, in the first 2 seasons where he's already a spirit.

I wouldn't say LQL is the most important one, but definitely the one to encourage him to forget and move on, hence the memory erasure once every 100 yrs. He's had too many lovers to count, so I don't think there really is an answer to who his most important lover is.

About YQL having the same face as Xiao Ding Mao and the twins, I think it's because she's the only actor (other than Elvis Han) the production house has a contract with lmao... which is why she keeps appearing as different characters, albeit linked to each other in some way or another. XDM is a standalone character who coincidentally consumed YQL in Season 1, and so assumed her outer appearance.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of WX meeting the further reincarnations of the twins, but even then, WX would've had no idea.

This season actually seems more like fanfiction to me, since it isn't based on the books. It's an original story intending to fill in the plot holes of the previous seasons, and explain the characters' backstory (which imo is a bit forceful, I didn't like how they exploited the characters).

Anyhow, I actually really want to see all these taking place in a modern setting. But knowing media restrictions in the Mainland, sighs.
