Sword Snow Stride is most like this in terms of storytelling but the fight scenes have a lot of slo mo. Ever Night…
Hi there, i'll give a non-requested opinion, i think the blood of youth have strong xianxia elements, but doesn't have any god as far as i remember, only people with high levels of power who can cultivate their QI to be stronger/iluminated etc. There are too far fantasy elements, and i'm almost sure it could fit as xianxia somehow, even if it doesn't have true divinities. They call true masters 'deities' but they're not real gods, only has strong powers. As Xiao Se, he lost his ability to practice martial arts because of an injury (but even like this he has some skills who don't need internal force, like walking in the air, and he defeated some folks until now), but he will heal and is probably one of the most powerful characters, having been considered a genius at age 17 when he raised his power to a level few masters can. (wuxin is at this level who is called "Insouciant" and other friends of the main group will practice and be like this eventually)
Did you read the novel? If so, can u give me a spoiler? They actually get together or admit any feelings or something…
I can only remember LWJ saying SQL and XS are meant for each other bc he's cunning and she's righteous, I laughed a lot at this part. but i totally agree with you, their romance is pretty weird. At least she's not a damsel in distress, otherwise I couldn't bear to watch. Oh so XS indeed admited he likes SQL? Even if it's another person asking it? I thought he would tell nothing about it at all, ahaha I learned one thing by watching lots of dramas over the years, if I find out that a couple is going to be together I stop shipping them with someone else, so I don't create expectations and get frustrated, it has worked well. Personally I would like XS could be with a girl more serious and intelligent (SQL is very smart, but her childish acting kinda turns me down)

But wait, at the end, he doesn't even reacts? like giving her a smile, a confirmation or wathever ahahaha. I can imagine totally it would be like this. Since there's no romance tag and the novel was written by a man, when I started to watch it i felt like i was seeing a shonen anime, with more action, male protagonism, and less emotive or romantic stuff (and no bl either for those waiting for it). i love Li Hong Yi so seeing him being romantic would be more than adorable to me, in part that's why i asked. but anyway I'm totally hooked by the drama, normally I wait for days to watch all at once, except in this case, I watch everyday haha. but as far as i could see SX seemed bothered by SQL's marriage with someone else, and he even called her pretty so at least i could confirm that they would be a couple. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
heard that the currently airing drama The Blood of Youth is very similar!
I'm watching the blood of youth right now. Can you tell me if ever night has the same type of intense fights and nonstop rythim as the blood of youth? If so I'll watch it
no wonder people found XS-SQL CP are so weird in the drama, because its like that too in the novel 😂, its so…
Did you read the novel? If so, can u give me a spoiler? They actually get together or admit any feelings or something like that? or it keeps going like weird flirting shy scenes until the end?
The answer is yes but romance is not the main focus of this drama.
There's any romantic scenes or any kind of affection between them, just small flirts, or you're refering to the romance that happens at the novel? I know the romance isn't the focus at all, and I'm addicted to the drama, but I have a soft spot for romance so would be nice to know some spoilers about it :)
FL is not aware of what the author looks like at any point in the drama, although she knows the author exists, so technically they are not the same person. But near the end the author says that Yubing could be her in another world, doing things she wouldn't have the courage to do in real life.
there are some kdramas at this style but a little more serious: My Liberation Notes, Summer Strike, When the Camellia Blooms and When the Weather Is Fine; and two c-dramas: Go Ahead and A River Runs Through It (this one is a youth drama, but the environment looks like a small village from the 90's)
I was excited and had high expectations on this drama. Started great with slow paced romance and cute interactions…
I need to tell you, I've had the same feeling you had, but with some skipping, at the ending episodes we receive all the cute scenes and romance we've waited for hahaha
apparently he figured it out on his own due to some deductions about her actions and some situations, and because their mentors are friends, but he only reveals this near the end. But after half of the drama he clearly knows that she has some deeper knowledge about birds.
