Tbh, same! My opinion about his acting is 50-50. He was cringe in ABS that I dropped it (but idk if it's because…
I'm scared to read some of what you write because I want to watch ATCY close to it being on a blank slate so I apologize if I don't discuss with ypu further regarding whatever information you write about SOOD. Lol
Anyway, now that you've said it... it's true that Yeobeen can create great chemistry with her colleagues when she does her projects. I would also add her chemistry with Uhm Taegoo and just recently, Nana in Glitch. Oh well, maybe I'm worrying for nothing! But people can't blame if one feels some apprehension. I just want to enjoy this work and the least I want to get is a lack of chemistry between the cast if ever.
Lusi having two of her works as the top most-watched for WeTV Global Ranking. So happy for her! May 2023 also be a good year for her filled with hit and quality series!

Again, I already mentioned that I have no clue about what SOOD focuses on since I try not to spoil anything for myself. I already pointed out that I merely said SOOD/ATCY seems to carry heavier tone because I only read the synopsis alone.
Anyway, I get what you mean now! Still doesn't diminish some of my worries though whether Yeobeen and Hyoseop would have enough chemistry together. I can't help it because I still feel a bit uncertain about their pairing but it's probably mainly due to having no available materials for ATCY yet.
Didn't know they won an award for Dr. Romantic 2 but no surprise! I agree that the leads, together with the whole cast, did well in that series.

Oh okay! I still have no means to compare since I try not to read as many things about the series so everything is merely based on the synopsis. I thought ATCY got heavier theme because of it.
Anyway, I really enjoyed Dr. Romantic 2. Can't get any happier S2 cast got to reprise their roles in S3 because the whole story weaving for S2 was so much better than S1. Also, I like how the characters were written there and how it was successful in setting the romance tone in the hospital life itself rather than relying on the romance itself that transpired between the leads (if that makes sense). I mean, people won't have the same opinion but S1 felt like they're forcing down the romance between the leads down the viewer's throat. Even though I won't say S2 did pure subtlely in that area (it's not really subtle) but I liked how they focused more on the hospital life itself and the things the medical personnel were facing in their everyday life in Doldam. I'm saying too much but it's because I just finished it a few days ago and I really didn't expect to enjoy watching the series so much!
Tbh, same! My opinion about his acting is 50-50. He was cringe in ABS that I dropped it (but idk if it's because the series itself is just not my cup of tea tbw so I found everything about it cringe-y) but I gave another series of his a shot (Dr. Romantic 2) and I enjoyed it and he was good there. Still, I'm not sure if he could pull off the heavier tone which this series seem to carry. Anyway, I would be glad to be proven wrong by him!
As for Yeobeen, I know she could deliver in such genre! People might have most of their impression of her acting basing on Vincenzo alone but her character in there was an oddball and pretty much a kind that you either love or hate. Exploring her filmography though, I found that she suits angsty and conflicted characters the most (literally shines best when her character is in agony) so merely considering the synopsis, I'm definitely here to enjoy another work and interpretation from her. Also, the issue concerning her looking too old to pull off a high school role is unfounded imo! I watched her in her films where she had to be wearing her uniform (ex. After My Death, brief flashback in Night in Paradise) and she could easily pass as a student given proper styling. Hopefully, they hired a good stylist for this series though so she could succesfully look the part again.
My main worry regarding this remake though is the chemistry between the leads. It's a pairing I did not expect to see and quite frankly, I still can't seem to imagine how they look together (given the lack of material) so I'm just really crossing my fingers, hoping they could look good together once they release some ATCY snippets here and there.
I mean, even without watching SOOD yet, I can really see that Alice and Greg really pass the pairing/chemistry test!
GYJ is nailing it! There's always bound to be differences in any actor's interpretation of their roles so it'd be even more surprising if GYJ is just being a carbon copy JSM's Mu Deok in P1 (when their characters' starting points were not the same as well). Still, people have to commend her imo because she has obviously studied JSM's FL in P1. She is on point when it comes to her expressions and mannerisms. Even her intonation sounds like MD at times (just enough to generate nostalgia). Her ability to grasp FL's past behavior and add another dimension by bringing in new nuances to her interpretation are just some of the things I find endearing. Hence, why I love this new FL. GJY did her assignment and gave us such a refreshing character. Also, plot-wise... they have a lot of angles to play with so P2 FL's story is much more interesting.
I might be biased too though because even in P1, I like Naksu just as much as when she still hasn't soul-shifted with Mu Deok (so I was part of the group that got excited to discover that we'll have FL back to her original form in P2).
I have not watched the original. Should I wait until this one comes out or watch the original drama? (I don't…
It's up to your preference fr! As for me, I chose not to watch the original yet because I wanted to enjoy Yeobeen's performance here without comparing it to the original.
Given I'm also excited to watch the original because Alice has been a familiar face in the T-industry for me in a long time now AND she always delivers (at least with the series I watched from her) so I do not doubt the claims that the original is a masterpiece knowing she leads it.
In general, I kinda don't have a rule on what to watch first when so many remakes/adaptations are out. Sometimes, I choose to watch the original first. Other times, the remake. Overall, it just depends on what I feel like watching first.
They finally wrapped this up yesterday! Hopefully, teaser would be released sooner. Considering this is a Netflix original prod, expect the trailer to only come out 1-2 weeks prior the air date. Excited and nervous to watch this!
And excited with the thought of finally watching the original version once I'm over this adaptation! I know Alice always slays!
For some reason, I can't ship Yul with So-i. Not speaking about chemistry alone (which I think they sadly lack),…
I do get what you mean but I just think he still deserves better. I am not even shipping him with FL but like, idk! She is indeed acting as a minion for Jinmu rn because she's powerless BUT she got used to being evil now. In S1, she still has some conscience which justifies how she's a morally grey character but it doesnt feel like that inS2 anymore. She already got used to being an evil pawn that does everything Jinmu says without even batting an eye. Anyway, it's not like he can't be happy without a partner! If his character does not die, he's better off as a magnanimous leader for his clan.
Also, if he survives... why should I limit his prospective partner to So-i and Yeong alone? In an alternate universe, who knows? He might meet someone he deserves. I'll be happier if they show us with him being a happy and contented individual (sans partner) as they conclude the series so I can freely imagine he'll meet someone new.
Lastly, the main reason I can't ship the characters is that I can't really feel the chemistry between them. It's not the actors' problem but imo, they just did not pass chemistry test? Again, this is solely subjective!
Jang uk falling in love with her soul all over again is just beautiful to watch. And buyeon/naksu is so adorable…
For some reason, I can't ship Yul with So-i. Not speaking about chemistry alone (which I think they sadly lack), their personalities are just too incompatible.
It would be interesting to see them in a series together. I love them both!
Yeobeen and Dongwook still haven't worked together before but they are both casted in Harbin so I'll take that as a project crumb. Lol. Tbh, I still don't know if they would have scenes in the movie together but I'm really hoping!
As for Hyun Bin and her having scenes together, I know a lot of movies have instances where actors don't even meet on set (not having scenes together in the process) BUT I kinda think the four main leads are certainly gonna have scenes together in Harbin. I mean, HB's role is the leader while the others are his subordinates. Since, their characters are in one team, it's not too farfetched to believe they'll have scenes together.

The other 3 are: Merry Christmas Mr. Mo, Alienoid, and My Sister is Dead (short film)
