Season 1 and season 2 feels like an upside down
Season 1 deals with Sieun, Suho, and Beomseok, who are supposed to be just side stories in webtoon, turning into detailed and good stories.Season 2, which was supposed to be long, detailed, and main story, was told in just 8 episode which sadly long-winded. I can accept the slow paced at first, but they didn't immediately enter the main story and spend time in episode 1 with Sieun at the new school—traumatized from past event
Without explaining it, we know how traumatic he is, but that's not the point. Sieun is facing new challenges at his new school. Even at the end of episode 1 it's a time-wasting cliffhanger.
So much important things that's not explained in the drama. It feels like it's just pouring in and hoping the audience understands what's behind it.
It's important to show that Sieun is the pillar of Eunjang High School by showing that he is capable of fighting, but it was suppressed from the beginning with the reason that Sieun was traumatized. When finally Sieun meet Baekjin and Songje, the reason was again invisible. They know that Sieun is dangerous, but there is no visible proof that shown. Only rumors in the past that shadows Sieun's name.
From the first eps I realized, the story would be really different. I was looking forward to it, but it turned out to be badly execute. They chose to focus on the stories between Sieun, Humin, Hyuntak, Juntae and Alliances but did not explain from the beginning what the urgency of the Alliance itself. The Alliance only explained in detailed at the end when Hyoman tell about the Alliance's business. Alliance brutality points are about 10 points in webtoon, but they only show half of it.
Is this important? for me it is. Because one of the core of Weak Hero beside Sieun etc is Alliance and Na Baekjin himself
I feel like the whole story was dragged and delayed, Park Humin was just introduced in episode 2, waste one more episode to get into the main story. Instead, they made an insignificant plot between sieun hyoman juntae hyuntak.
If you're not webtoon readers, I think you'll be fine, I'm fine if the plot changes if the execution is good BUT compared to season 1, I can't help but say that the feeling and the excitement of Weak Hero disappeared in season 2.
Some GOOD things from season 2 I think:
1. Seo Juntae and Park Humin's character writing more diverse than webtoon
2. climax scene between Eunjang and Alliance
The story build-up pretty good, but that's just it. The credit scene ending is so funny, I wouldn't be surprised if the non-webtoon reader was confused why the ending like that 🤣
I know that between webtoon and drama can be different. But the point is when I watch Season 2, I don't have the same feeling I felt in Season 1 and when I read the webtoon.
They have an incredibly great cast, but squandering such a good story into just 8 episodes is... disappointing 😟

all my criticisms of the first movie PAID OFF!
much, much better than the first movie! 💯in terms of story and execution, it is very different, although its characteristics are still there. more technical, more competitive, more watch value. and what I criticized from the first movie, here it all paid off
if the first movie focused on Zhang Chi returning after a 5-year hiatus, then in Pegasus 2 it focuses more on Zhang Chi creating his own racing team, preparing himself and young drivers to compete, and proving that he did not make a mistake during the previous incident
Each character is also more solid, Zhang Chi's confusion about whether he can return to racing is also highlighted well. New characters like Li Xiaohai and Xiande get a good spotlight, then Manager Ye who was previously mediocre here gets an "upgrade" to being annoying 🤣
absolutely the main reason I like this movie is because it focuses more on the race than the comedy. the duration is longer, the build up to the climax is also very fitting 💯 the comedy is still there but it is placed at the right time, the humor is also more in line with me
more serious? yup, it also shows a lot that internal and external factors in racing are not only looking for sponsors but also skills, weather, rivalry, the gap between rich and poor teams, the unfair committee, etc.
Less comedy makes this movie more exciting
the chemistry of this team is also more fitting because from the beginning it was shown that they have the same dream. their dumb & dumber personality also the same so when it reaches the climax, our feel also increases
in my opinion this movie is also more realistic, the scene when the Lightime racer having an accident made me a little amazed because Pegasus 2 didn't choose to be dramatic movie, they do what every race people do :
"worried the drivers everytime accident happens"
another realistic character is Li Xiaohai. there are so many potential drivers like LXH who have trouble getting a seat, for years only being a test driver. we all know being a racer is expensive. if not rich, most likely will be struggling to join the race and get a proper team
finally I can see Yuqiang as Zhang Chi's navigator after not being shown in the first movie 🥹 and since this is released in 2024 so the shot quality is also better. very pleasing to the eye
finally, I am very satisfied watching Pegasus 2. previously I was skeptical if there would be a 3rd movie because based on the first movie I was not satisfied
but if it is still consistent like the second movie, then I also want to watch Zhang Chi again.

not the best one, but still can be enjoyed
It's a promising plot, but I think the closer to the ending, the worse the execution. The script of the drama is quite monotonous, they often make one scene have a drastic range of emotional changes but the dialogue is plain. The drama's timeline is a mess with very few distinguishing points, sometimes confusing me between the present or the past. Then it's hard to recognize characters, they have many characters but don't introduce them well. It's like suddenly there's a new character out of nowhere.
Park Eun Bin and Sul Kyung Gu's chemistry is very good. I like Jeong Se Ok's strong & consistent character, but tend to hate Prof. Choi's inconsistency. If they want to make a red herring, just make Prof. Choi mysterious as well, there's no need to make it rambling. Instead of looks complicated, it makes Prof. Choi's character look childish.
I like the slow pace here because it suits the mood of this drama
Sometimes I feel like they're romanticizing murder, but aren't most kdramas like this? 🤣 Even so, I still enjoy it, the dynamic of this drama is quite good and can still be enjoyed.
