OMG i am so stupid, i have been waiting for all the episodes to be put on netflix before i continued and i thought there were 50 episodes, but its 49, which means its been completed for some days now ㅜ_ㅜ
I don't think that it's particularly like The K2, but i personally think that they have the same overall feeling,if that makes sense? Both male leads, i will say, are a little bit similar with the secretive fighter background. Only Side By Side With You is a little more modern. Also, there a few parts that drag on (but i feel like that is like many chinese dramas), and they repeat a lot of flashbacks, but honestly its really easy to skip them. Also this drama may not be as long as it seems on the surface, because i remember while watching this there were some episodes where the recap at the beginning after the opening credits is waaaaaaay longer than it needed to be. Like i would skip almost 5-15 minutes in before the new content started..
SO the first 12 episodes can be summed up in Li Qin Ai is dating this chef guy, she goes to a school reunion where she sees her ex bf Dai Hai An , she then doubts her relationship with chef guy. She gets a head injury and starts imagining her ex bf Dai Hai An. Too-good-for-Li-Qin-Ai chef boyfriend proposes to her and she reluctantly says yes, after they go wedding dress shopping and chef bf buys her a damn house, she decides to break up him. A bunch of wishy-washy flirting/dating happens for the rest of the episodes, I guess Dai Hai An and Li Qin Ai are dating UNTIL the last episode where Dai Hai An's friend/co-worker Also Li Qin Ai's best friend's boyfriend/not boyfriend? gets on a plane, but OH NO, it crashes and he dies. Dai Hai An has a hard time but doesnt want to admit ti and when he finally admits it to Li Qin Ai that he's having a hard time. And after he cries a lil', they do the devils tango (it seems odd to, while crying about your dead friend, make love to your girlfriend, but hey what do I know!?), but then the next morning Li Qin Ai woke up and Dai Hai An is nowhere to be found, the only trace of him is a text he left her basically saying after losing people he realized he doesn't know who he is and its not fair to say he loves her when he doesnt even know himself. AND he disappears. Flash forward to 4 years later, Li Qin Ai's goes to interview someone and turns out its her selfish ex boyfriend, Dai Hai An. He is now a surfer dude. And they flirt with each other, and the end. If ya'll can't tell i'm a little salty about this drama........
