I don't know why a lot of people keep fussing about the ending. To me it's pretty clear and easy to understand, and makes good sense, too. Maybe the problem with translated subs?
Any knows where I can download the instrumental version of the main theme song (yan yu fu)? This is a good movie and the background music sounds so good but I can't find it anywhere...
Does anyone have any idea where I can find the whole background music tracks of this series? They're even more beautiful than the main OST but I can hardly find them.

Yes, Siyue's brother paid an unaffordable price for his dark scheme. If only he would accept the previous help and just be a happy farmer raising his little sister still well enough, the Siyue would not end up like that. Anyway I do feel so sad about the couple. I hope Siyue and Binzhu will meet up in another life, if any.
Apart from the main leads who've done a phenomenal work, especially Huan Xuan, I found the casino's owner also amazing. Her last scene has really obsessed me!
I think in some way it's just well the meaning of the story - You trade everything for the one you love on the expense of others, only to actually lose her. By harming others, after all, the one you harm is your beloved.
This is a really life-changing drama yet so little watched these days. I can say it bears a totally different touch to my heart, unforgettable and all worthwhile one.
Just finished the story. Such an underrated series! Very meaningful and tasteful - I mean, you get a lot of different emotions, from sadness to bliss, but all the way very worthwhile eventually. ML is smart and calm, wise and compassionate. In my opinion it's no less, or to me actually much better, than more popular series such as Love Like the Galaxy, and quite similar to Under the Power regarding many factors. All in all the story plot can only be fully appreciated if patiently watched until the end.

The one good takeaway from this film is FAMILY bonding. It's depicted well enough, somehow touching one's heart, making me ponder on what it means to love as a family. The other fine factor is their ideals on bravery, loyalty and serving humanity, but sadly still including a lot of killing and revenge, which is never radically ethical, nor is it everlastingly effective in maintaining a peaceful world.

Nice review and voicing my thoughts, too. Also, I think part of what makes the story so enjoyable yet still somehow practical is the way a lot of supposedly 'antagonists' transform into the protagonists, or how the 'bad' turn into the 'good' and help one another overcome obstacles on the way to practice the good, serving the society. Xie Xiao, Shangguan Xi, Lan Qing Xuan, Lin Ling, etc. are major examples: They all turn from foes to friends, and virtually there is no other way around, i.e. no betrayal on the good team. It's so uplifting and I think I actually can see some in reality.
