i must have dropped and picked up this show a dozen times. i just couldn’t get over that one legged ghost. but then I saw that kim young kwang was in it. but to be honest, the story had me hooked after the first episode.
that actor who played the imugi and the scholar is amazing. his facial expressions fit perfectly kim young kwangs. the acting in this show all together was the best I have ever seen in a kdrama
what started as a comedy, turned into horror and back to comedy and then into tragedy. i cried and cried for the king and his son. i cried for the imugi and some more for the scholars mother.
every single person in this show gave their best.
in the end it wasn’t the story of the haunted palace but the story of the imugi.
i loved that character so much. his goofiness and yet he was smart. his aloofness and yet he was feeling deeply. his constant appetite for food and especially pumpkin tuffy.
the king… if we could all just have a ruler like that. the bromance between them was so much fun and enjoyable!!
the fried abalone … he had me laughing so much.
that blabbering old fool…. omg I hated him. but again the acting was superb!
the evil guy… i hated him and then I felt sorry for him.
the mother, i felt so bad for her because she continuesly had to watch her son die. she knew he wasn’t her son and still held on to him. the pain must have been unbearable for the character and the actress portrayed it perfectly! i loved that she wasn’t ditched but made a family member until the last second.
the shaman…. what can I say about her. her quiet and calm demeanor was so fitting for this. her ritual dances had grace and strength. her character was so lovable and intriguing! the actress was just perfect for this.
again, the acting in this show and the chemistry of the cast was out of this world. i will always rewatch it. over and over again. it was so funny and still had a powerful message.
i wish there was a second season. i want to see that girl who kept the tree finding her husband. i want to see how the king continues to live. i want to see more of the imugi and his great shaman wife.
i could go on and on about this show because I truly loved it so much. i will have to take a break from shows because this one was that good.
watch it! you will not be disappointed!!
