This is the investigation that the newly formed coalition of artists and filmmakers called for in their press announcement on 12/01/2024 . "This move, initiated on January 18, aims to address concerns of potential bias and ensure fairness in probing the leaked information surrounding the case". Lets hope the "Lee Sun Kyun Prevention Law" this coalition has been advocating for is implemented as part of changes to protect celebrities/high profile peoples rights when any hint of scandal surrounds them.

Love him in the Kingdom movies on Netflix and currently watching him in Kingdom III. Very handsome man and has a real presence as the King.

Will be interesting to hear what they have to say in this press announcement on Friday 12 January 2024 and whilst I am extremely saddened that it took the death of Lee Sun Kyun, a Korean icon, to spur this type of action I am also heartened that it has provided the impetus for advocating for much needed change to protect the rights of South Korean artists/celebrities.

You're part of all that is wrong with South Korea, part of that ugly mob baying for blood by spreading malicious gossip to ruin lives and livelihoods and push people over the edge. Just FO and take your hatred with you and leave us to mourn Lee Sun Kyun in peace.

The magnitude of his loss is still too difficult to comprehend. It still upsets me greatly that this truly gifted and very talented beautiful artist never received the support, compassion and fair treatment he should have and was entitled to, but was instead cast out by the industry in which he worked and became famous and was then convicted and pushed over the edge by a baying media, police and netizens mob. Sickens me to the stomach of what happened to this man and I am truly disgusted with how Korea treats any of its celebrities/high profile people when a hint of scandal surrounds them, as they are essentially "hung, drawn and quartered" by the mob before they are even given a chance to defend themselves. Hopefully the reverberations worldwide around this poor man's death will provide the necessary impetus for long overdue change in Korea in the way it treats it celebrities/high profile people . RIP Lee Sun-kyun, you will live on in your impressive body of work and will be much missed and remembered always. Much love, condolences and thoughts to your devastated and broken hearted family.

Netflix version is currently in post production and will air this year sometime

Pleasantly surprised to see this Chinese series has started airing on Viki as I have been hanging out for the Netflix series which is currently in post production and will air this year sometime. I read the three books, The Three-Body Problem, The Dark Forest and Death's End back to back in Sept 2020 and loved them all and was really excited to read a few months later that Netflix had bought the rights to produce an English-language adaptation of the books. Hope both this Chinese version and the Netflix english version keep as close as possible to the books and do them justice and will be interesting to watch and compare each version. It is only fitting that there is a Chinese version, given this is a masterpiece of Chinese science-fiction by a fabulous Chinese author, Liu Cixin, Off to watch on Viki.

Loved him in Colourful Bone and as Uncle Wu Zhu in Joy of Life and am really hoping he is in Joy of Life 2 as they have only listed some of the cast members which currently doesn't include him.

Can't wait for season 2 as season 1 was phenomenal with a great cast. Hoping to see more of Uncle' Wu Zhu, who was one of my favourites.

I have watched and loved all the dramas you have mentioned and can't wait for Joy of Life2 as Joy of Life1 was phenomenal. With regards to k-dramas you should check out Empress Ki, it is a historical drama and one of my top all time dramas, absolutely loved it. Also another couple of fabulous historical k-dramas are "Trees With Deep Roots" & "Six Flying Dragons". Six Flying Dragons is the sequel to Trees With Deep Roots (even though SFD was made in 2015 after Trees with Deep Roots which was the original and made in 2011, it is recommended to watch SFD first , then watch Tree with Deep Roots.

The Rise of the Phoenixes was the first Chinese drama I actually watched as it was on Netflix which is where I was first introduced to Korean dramas and after watching it and being so impressed with it, I was hooked on Chinese dramas. In searching for top rated Chinese dramas I found this website and joined Viki.com specifically to watch Nirvana in Fire 1 which was an absolutely incredible drama and set me on track to find & watch all the other amazing top historical Chinese dramas with so many talented actors and actresses.

Can't wait for this drama as been hanging out for another Chen Kun drama after The Rise of the Phoenixes, which is one of my top Chinese dramas with both Chen Kun and Ni Ni being so phenomenal in it.

Mu Huai Hu was absolutely fabulous as Eunuch Qin Luan and made a great villain. I can't get that voice out of my head, it really made the character. One of the many things I love about the chinese historical dramas is the fabulous roles, like this one, they have for the more mature actors to display their immense acting abilities. Well done Eunuch Mu Huai Hu, you made this such an interesting drama.

Can't believe there are no reviews on this awesome actor. I joined specifically to comment on his superlative performance in Joy of Life. Loved, loved, loved his sublime performance in Joy of Life, such a fantastic portrayal of his character, Wang Qi Nian, which provided a perfect contrast with the charismatic and magnificent performance of the male lead Zhang Ruo Yun. Tian Yu brought much needed light heartedness and comedy to this brilliant show and had me laughing out loud many times, he was just so wonderful in this role. A very talented actor who deserves a special mention.
