I think they should at least make the fml kinda convincing
That is one of the reasons why i am dropping this drama after episode 4.
1) fl not convincing as crossdresser. She is good when ahe is not pretending. 2) setup was slow. the kings death was the only dramatic part that i enjoyed. Male lead claims he is taking up the throne to avenge his brother. But the entire arc of the next twelve episodes, basically the whole rest of the show, depends upon this stupid love affair between the brothers. I find it flimsy and will lead to plot holes or plot-conveniences later on. Better to drop the show when male lead is unreliable narrator. 2) male lead is chaotic. Claims he wants to free slaves but kills Hong Jang. 3) hong jangs death is the only reason FL continues to crossdress in order to exact revenge. But Jong Baes death would have been enough to appease her. But now Hong Jang is used as a plot-convenience to keep both FL and ML infertwined -- this is weak writing!
@kadadeobi You asked why not "just cast another male" instead of the same boring trope of Female Lead dressing as male?
Well, i can try to explain but you might not understand if you are actually gay. I will just assume i am writing to a strictly straight audience: A pure love can only exist in a heterosexual relationship under subterfuge and enveloped within a homesexual setting. For an individual's love not to be mired by power imbalance & difference in status, or not based upon societal expectation of children, or compromised by moral barriers such as loyalty and filaility which are evolutionary adaptation to ward of diseases, and not to appeal to lowest common denominator of legal barriers (examples would be legal restrictions such as adult voting age, requirement of consent which is not only part of feminsim but a modern construct of the carceral state, i.e. patriarchy, for rape is differentiated from love only by a thin veil) and for all of the above to take place a man has to love another man and not a woman. For intimacy can only take place when it is against the superego and by pushing back against the strict moral code of the nuclear family ( see discussions of moral failings of black society as discussed in the sixties by Moynihan Report to US senate) and all that it entails. Pure intimacy allows for love to become lust and that is forbidden fruit that kdrama fans are looking for when we watch tropes such as crossdressing female leads.
i wish i had watched the trailer first because i didnt know it had the cliche troupe of FL dressing as a male..…

yup.. we have years of her acting.. she can't act to save herself.. i am waiting for feedback before i start..…
You still havent given a single example. When pressured to you say you dont have the time. But you keep claiming that we who are supporting an actress multiple directors and professionals have called a talent is not talented. They are professionals, YOU are not. We have give facts, and you start crying.. name one actor who is talented, please?
Edit: you dont like stupidity but you cant give one stupid example? You are being stupid when multiple award winning professionals (AND mind you professionals are not fans) have chosen her as a lead. Are you a professional, no! So dont bring your stupid opinion into this unless you can back it up with examples.

And i hate to say this and i never would appeal to authority but you sound like a kid. I am twice your age so stop acting juvenile and speak with respect. Lol, you are young and have attitude problems.

If you claim to be objective name any actor who is good? How can you claim to be objective and not defend your stance? Your the one who is juvenile and attacking people for questioning you on a drama forum where the whole point is to discuss, ie if you dont want to discuss then your being juvenile not vice versa.
Reviewed in South China Morning Post: "MY DEMON was truly a painful experience. Soulless and soul-sucking in all the wrong ways. Solid audition for Song Kang and Kim Yoo-jung to play side characters in BARBIE 2 though."

You are not making any sense. There are far prettier actresses than Shin se Kyung. She gets roles because she is talented. Imho, she is not pretty but i watch each and every drama because she can carry a series.
