Also, I would like to add that having to Chihiro with the blonde hair and dark roots was perfect for his character. It added complexity to his character as being creative and visual, like the photographer that he truly was.
As difficult as the subject matter is, this couple had each otherās back at every turn, itās really a great story about supporting each other and getting through trauma. I really donāt think they couldāve done a better job at being accepting of each otherās past. I thought it was really good. Itās gritty and realistic, so if you donāt like that⦠Otherwise, I highly recommend.
Beautiful cinematography. However, darkly disturbing and I do NOT recommend watching for anyone at all. There was one extremely young boy, and I didnāt really get the point. There no character growth and I felt really sorry for that boy at the end. It was just really dark, disturbing behavior.
I watched this because there was a write up about it in the Guardian. This movie triggered me eight ways to Sunday - hush, be quiet, if you acknowledge it you lose, sweep it all under the rug. The youngest sister was the most annoying to me. She was so self-righteous, I couldnāt believe the crap that came out of her mouth. The only likable characters were the librarian and detective, who both struggled with self esteem issues, but were genuine and quirky. This was a slow-moving movie about cheaters and their utterly enabling partners. The look-the-other-way women were as bad as the cheating men and older sister.
An after dark movie, āJapanese Pinkā itās good cinematography. I donāt think the synopsis is right, it says how far Noberu will go, but really itās Aniki that puts himself on the line. Watch on Gaga - after dark š
I think this is a really misunderstood film. The synopsis is misleading, viewers think it is all going to be reality-based and in a finite timeline. In the first part of the timeline, they first meet and become lovers. The second part is what the narcissistic lead fanasizes it would be like to meet this person on the flip side ( double exposure ) but then, as he begins to realize what the other person goes through, being on that other side, that he is putting his lover through a lot of emotional stress. In one part we even see a flash from the fantasy cut to reality, and he actually apologizes to his partner because of this epiphany. The sex is important to understand what the submissive partner endures. The realization helps the lead have compassion for his submissive partner. Hope this helps. Itās a metaphor for having empathy for each otherās side
Some of the best kissing scenes out there, just fantastic. That being said, the story is messy and the finale cringey. Watch if you like kissing scenes, especially episodes 8 and on.
I donāt want to be mean, but I really do want a different stylist for Mawinās hair. I just donāt think itās quite right, and too long near his face. Makes me want to grab a pair of scissors, sorry Mawin
