Is this scary? I'm like so easily scared... but idk if I should watch it.. so anyone like me watching this??
There are no gory parts, just lots of suspense. It's the Chinese counterpart of the USA's Elementary TV series, replete with Sherlock Holmes battling Moriarty with psychological warfare.
I enjoyed the series. I found it a little bit draggy in some parts, and some recoveries were just so incredulous. I had a suspicion of who the ultimate puppet master was. But, nevertheless, it was a solid performance. An 8.5/10 rating for me.
I am glad I disregarded the negative comments, and watched this show. Personally, I don't watch too many C-dramas; but I really liked this one. Highly recommend it.
Someone else pointed out that this version is starting to make TenTen look like a douchbag, and I'd say at a level…
I, too, was surprised by and resentful towards Tenten's rejection of Taliw. Had Tenten stayed true to the "Naoki" character from the manga, and not reciprocated her liking him with the teasing and kissing, his sudden decision to court Nana would have been palatable. In this version, he just left Taliw in an emotional limbo.
***** Ep 18 SPOILER ALERT ****
Given the lengthy discussion regarding Tenten's change of romantic focus, I thought I should add that in episode 18, it was revealed that both Tenten and Nana made promises to each other when they were young. Not that it would excuse his behavior; it just helps us follow his rationale in choosing Nana, in addition to his belief that Taliw would be happier with King.
I think that this fact should have been revealed earlier on, so that we would better understand his decision, and not think of him as a "douche bag."
I find the premise of selling your children abhorrent. While it is not a common occurrence in the west where we live, I am afraid of its social impact on people, especially those in 3rd world countries, who may find themselves in destitute situations. By popularizing the theme, they in fact are condoning such actions. I found the clips at the beginning of some episodes showing the popularity of the drama in Thailand troublesome. The male leads were quite physical, using violence on women until they submit. Some impressionable young girls and BOYS would accept it as the norm, and that is unacceptable.
I realize I should look at its entertainment value, but not at the expense of marginalizing child slavery, and condoning physical force on women.
4 episodes into the show and I still can't find it interesting and the characters are unlikable except for Kim…
Because of the show's high rating here, I PERSISTED and PERSISTED. For me, personally, the show did not get interesting until episode 11. Overall all, it was OK. Would I have watched it, had I known the show's quality? No. I could have used the 20+ hours watching better shows. That's just my two cents.
Don't hate me, but I was disappointed. Given the favorable rating, I was hoping it is of the same caliber as It Started With A Kiss. I personally love school girl crushes. But I found it too drawn out and almost gave up watching. I guess my expectation was too high.

My sentiments exactly! I can't help but snicker.
