I highly recommend watching this, but in my opinion, it’s not a drama with much romance. That’s probably why it doesn’t include the romance tag. From what I see, the romance is minimal. If there is any, it’s mostly just subtle eye contact, conversations, or throwing sarcasm with deep meaning. Maybe there’s a hug or two that can be counted on one hand and one kiss at the end. Other than that, there’s nothing. The focus is more on dialogue and action. If you’ve ever watched Mr. Sunshine (a Korean drama), The Double is similar, but The Double has a better ending (happy ending? Open ending? I’m still confused about The Double’s ending).

Personally, I think this is the first Chinese drama where I didn't skip any scenes. I enjoyed every scene and am always curious about the next chapter. Before watching this drama, I thought Chinese dramas weren't as good as Korean dramas, but this one changed my mind! I really like this drama—the plot is very clear, and the story is to the point. In other Chinese dramas I've watched before "Kunning Palace," I often skipped many scenes because they felt unnecessary. However, every scene in this drama is worth watching until the end. Despite having a lot of dialogue, I really enjoy it. If people don't like it because of that, then maybe this drama isn't their type. Personally, I like xianxia dramas; in Korean dramas, this genre would be my favorite (sageuk). This drama has many thought-provoking scenes, which I appreciate. I also love this drama because of that. And Bai Lu—I really like your acting! I've watched many of her dramas and enjoyed them all. Zhang Ling He, the male lead, is also fantastic. Their acting is incredible, and their relationship in the drama is very cute, with them denying their feelings for each other. Just like a teenager HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA😌🙏

Haha, I totally understand! The female lead annoys me too. I was expecting a better experience with this Chinese drama since it had such high ratings and lots of people seemed to love it, but I just couldn't get into the story. I ended up watching it on fast forward. I skipped many parts because they were too boring. I guess I'll have to drop it 😭👍

As couple (like they are still friend but get along together) after 10 episodes I think. As real couple, after 20 episodes. Break up I think after 30 episodes. Comeback together at 35/36/37 - end. I watched this drama when exam periode make my memory mixed👀💀
