nothing special really since i had watched another version earlier but the star cast is pretty good.

Nice and not too complicated slow burn to watch, leads are great actors obviously

not sure if this was shot recently or and older one. Simple, short and fairly low budget. Was surprised to see HJH in such a role

no idea dream or not i skimmed thinking it was a new drama. Ending was too short but seemed happy, typical of older shorts

this was such a feel good drama, different versions but tan yan yan just aces this kind of role

This was pretty good considering normally they have real and fake heiress fighting each other. The 2nd FL usually does villain roles so it was nice her to see in this playing the good cop

good revenge drama even if plot wasn't new, FL does these roles well. Lot of slaps

I also realized the web novel is still ongoing so part 2 may not be anytime soon lol

i feel like he's actually vain in both lifetimes as he lives the rich life even after being reborn and that's kinda the fun part of watching it for me lol

Has the tropes but short and sweet without angst. I like Xiong Anni in strong but non toxic roles and the gender reversal was a decent.

i came here looking for reviews as i had downloaded it and was on my wl. I guess I will skip as there's so many new ones out haha

Decent watch, YYT looked beautiful in the costumes. I didn’t like how a lot of important plot points were just brushed off through background dialogue. Not slow, but it could have been much better.

Well at least it’s short, only around 1h 20 mins or so. Watched it for the FL. No romance, but the first part is at least somewhat engaging. If they’re gonna make a show, at least give us some idea of who the villains are and some backstory. I guess it’s a budget issue though, it was probably shot in a week or so since most of it is indoors lol.

Some may even like it but basically FL had relationships with 3-4 men from the same family i think(novel), in this they only show 2 (brothers). Either way the screenplay was not my cup of tea and ended abruptly even though some might see it as a HE

another nothing burger script, skimmed for Qi Yu Jia who was gorgeous as usual and was funny. Based on a novel which has an AI drama and based on reverse harem theme.

You certainly have a valid pov and I get why u didn't like it since you do consider romance so important, so in that aspect ofc POJ was better. I don't care much about kisses all that much in C dramas and the plot/screenplay is more important to me. Neither POJ, nor KTTPH's genre esp the latter is just romance. They're firstly historical dramas with themes of war, revenge, romance, etc and 1 theme or the other is more prominent in any given drama (romance in POJ for example). So different people can enjoy different aspects of a drama depending on what they like. So it's perfectly natural why so many people rate KTTPH higher and others vice-versa.

But your criticism about romance being an important part of the plot is also valid imo, it's just that the other aspects were great and there wasn't unnecessary angst. But you can't compare it to something like Titanic which is an actual romantic movie.

In older C dramas, sometimes leads barely shared a kiss even though romance was an important theme likely due to social/cultural/censorship. For me personally, in C dramas kisses were a bonus unless I find the leads v attractive and they have proper kisses, closest probably would be POJ.

Now coming to the casting, FL did a good job overall but it was a mistake putting her in it imo as well. Because I can think of 5 actresses who would be perfect for the role starting with someone like Lu Yu Xiao and the show could have had the best of both worlds, I can't imagine how much heat it would have generated if the LITC CP were reunited. You're also right in saying that HMH was cautious around her and he's supposed to be for his safety i guess. China is brutal when it comes to any controversy/banning artists over ridiculous stuff. Ofc he doesn't want a PR nightmare lol
