5. hahaha right? I think that would make more sense+SF was about to pat XJ's stomach when she was running away in that scene...it would have been more cute and sweet too if they kept it like that

no prob! LAR has so many small and intricate details and just goes to show how much effort the crew+team+actors put in ;A;

The two main reasons for this is bc there's a standard set by the entertainment industry of 50+eps which meant lots of dramas in order to meet the running time would create filler eps. So by limiting that it'll hopefully improve the standards of chinese dramas.

Another is to limit the amount of money that a lot of these super long dramas/ sites are gouging from viewers (this is due to the nature of web cdramas which can earn a ridic amount of money each ep from ppl who spend for VIP benefits etc etc) which again is why there are so many filler episodes in so many dramas.

So generally cnetz weren't opposed to the 60 ep limit but imo 40 eps is a bit much. I generally was pro the 60 ep limit but just 40 ep dramas...a lot of xianxia/costume dramas need a lot more than 40 eps for it build plot, story and to wrap up nicely etc.

Also obviously in this case I would love for LAR to be longer (esp bc there were rumours those cut eps etc were more in detail of XJ+SF's past 9 lives). Ah well, maybe one day they'll release these eps in DVD form or smth.

Just wanted to give some tidbits LAR that I've seen+read on chinese sites etc :D

1. The reason why XJ always only has one side of her hair tied with ornaments/hairpins is to symbolise that she's genderless - this was confirmed by the hair/makeup(?) crew. Since both sides of the hair with ornaments = girl, none = boy and just one side = genderless (rooted in chinese history/myth). And since the Asura clan are genderless this was to represent that which I thought was pretty cool.

2. The reason why Tengshe was so upset about Bailin's self destruction+death was because (at least according to the novel, and is sorta implied in the drama), Bailin actually raised Tengshe himself and makes sense in the drama when Tengshe said to XJ "Only Dijun and Tiandi can pat my head!!!" also the fact that Tengshe can even be considered on equal footing as the 4 Heavenly Beasts is because he's been spoiled by Bailin lol.
Someone said that all of Bailin's kindness+tenderness was given to Tengshe.

3. A comment I've translated about SF:
"16 yrs old: Entered the 13 Precepts
20: Endured the Yan Luo nails, Demon Whip and Lovers Curse
22: Received the backlash of Jun Tian Cehai
24: Finally married the girl he chased after for his past 10 lives."

4. In ep 54(?) when Tengshe and Qinglong were 'fighting' and you can see the both of them release their true forms, the whole time it was Tengshe attacking and Qinglong just on defense and he never once tried attacking Tengshe :')

5. In the epilogue scene when SF was chasing after XJ with the baby. The voice dubbing was different but what was actually said (at least according to people reading SF's lips) "You're pregnant now! don't drink" LOL so they're actually already expecting their second child <3

6. In all 10 lives SF and XJ were born on the same day (I'm not sure if this is novel specific but it's definitely true for their 10th life) which means after SF died, XJ died not long after (ie on the same day). Just like XJ said in the drama later on after she got her memories of their 9 lives back "I was just slow to understand that I loved you" (paraphrased) - She might have been too late to understand what she felt for SF but when she did she followed after him. ;A;

This became a lot longer than I thought lol but it's just fun to see certain things I missed or didn't pick up the first time round.
