I've been watching Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Chinese dramas since 2008—and it's safe to say it's more than just a hobby at this point. There's something deeply comforting and captivating about the way Asian dramas tell stories—whether it’s the quiet poetry of slice-of-life, the tension of a well-paced thriller, or the sweetness of a rom-com done right. I’ve grown up alongside these dramas, and they’ve become a way to unwind, reflect, and connect with different cultures and eras.
Some of my all-time favorites include Story of Minglan for its rich historical depth, The Glory for its raw emotional power, Liar Game (Japanese version) for its psychological twists, and Love Destiny for its beautiful blend of time travel and romance. I’m always on the lookout for dramas that center strong character development, family bonds, or a well-executed slow burn. Whether it’s palace intrigue, heartwarming neighborhood tales, or morally complex revenge plots—I’m all in.
