I think people like you need to stop confusing effeminate homosexuals with characters who lack personality and development, which is what is being discussed, and this is a characteristic of many BLs. It wasn't necessarily a negative criticism. My favorite series is Game of Thrones. When it was on, I don't remember anyone defending Kit Harrington's performance like crazy, the way they defend Namping's performance as if their lives depended on it.
