A Story Full of Layers: Expect the Unexpected
At first, I didn’t have high expectations for this drama.With a low budget and a premise that felt familiar: about a phone call from the future. I thought I could already guess where the story was going: a girl receives a call from the future and tries to change her fate. But it turns out, this drama offers so much more than that.
The story doesn’t just focus on one plotline; it also beautifully explores the complexity of each character. It shows how their backgrounds shape them, and how no one is entirely good or evil. They’re simply human, making decisions as reactions to their own wounds and the world around them. What we see on the surface is just the tip of the iceberg.
The acting skills of all the actors and actress are also truly impressive. Although most of the cast are new faces in the entertainment industry except for Huang Junjie, they portrayed their characters with depth and sincerity. It didn’t feel like they were acting. it felt like they were the characters. Their performances were delicate and immersive, making viewers feel like they were witnessing real lives rather than just watching a drama.
The cinematography is equally outstanding, leaving a strong impression in every important moment. The use of lighting and shadows is well-balanced, creating visuals that are both beautiful and emotionally resonant.
Each episode feels tight and purposeful, there’s never a dull moment. In fact, the story is filled with small details, including easter eggs and foreshadowing, which add layers of mystery and suspense. This makes the drama not just enjoyable to watch, but also fun to analyze and think about afterward.
Some people might not like the ending, but for me, it was absolutely perfect. Everything came together in the final episode, and the twists were unexpected and far beyond what I could have imagined.
