A bit Overhyped & Rated

After being super dissapointed with the Cdrama "Everyone Loves Me" which one of my fav casts, Zhou Ye and Lin Yi, i was reccomended to watch this drama and tbh -- it wasn't all that

first my likes:
i liked that this drama showed a side of E-Sports i've never seen bfr!! i was those type of people, like Jinyang in the show, who found it odd why people are so obssesed with gaming for hours behind a screen. i heard there was a rise of E sports worldwide, which i expected, but didn't rlly know much about it -- mostly because i didn't rrly care lol. But this drama highlights that Esport why it should be taken srsly, and people truly love it and are skilled they should go for it.

I also loved how they showed the aspect of entering into the world of fame, and the problems that come with it, especially as a female gamer!

The second lead couple was the reason i continued. their dynamic seemed more realistic too me! they had there ups and downs and finally figured it out - they accepted each other and support each other and i was so happy when they got married :>

May be an unpopular opinion but i prefered Yang over Lu Sucheng - their relationship dynamic was a lot more natural and wholesome! i understand why she rejected him but he was a type of person who deserved a second chance :<

dislikes:
story pacing was a bit annoying at times.. i had to skip at times and i dont like doing that during shows.

acting of the main leads and some side leads was soooo bad, esp FL. she was so bland, even when she was in a relationship, same facial expressions & basically emotionless; i didn't like her at all!! her character development had ot be done a lot better --- they did the ML justice towards the end but again he was very stern and to me emotionless too!!

Main couples relationship was very awkward and at times not affectionate at all. im saying this mainly because of their acting but i didn't expect the romance to be like that. ML was the type who was very disclosed, and strict with rules no matter who they applied too and even himself but out of nowhere he starts fliriting with the FL??? it didn't make sense sometimes he was very flirty -- which got her attention obv -- then other times back to his same old strict and closed off self.. he seemed very odd too me and the confession was very random and out of the blue... they shouldve build it up a lot better from both sides!
personally they shouldn't have ended together at all !! he's a very protective and caring person when it comes it comes to his teamates because he's the captain, but that was just enought. his treatment to her when he protects her from the media, the trolls etc was super wholesome but it shouldnt have taken a romantic turn honeslty! she wouldve been better single, or with Lu Yue or with Yang!

animation for the gaming scenes was solid but i skipped almost all of it and the games too

overall, while it has some solid story plots & was def better then everyone loves me, i will not be watching this again.

PS this is my first review on here :P

"Goodbye, to the family we've never met"

Twelve letters was a show i walked into knowing nothing about the plot -- the only thing that attracted me was that it was another Zhou Yiran drama, and the posters were super interesting.

I was left feeling all emotions after completing this drama - from sadness, shock, happiness, anger and many more. This dramas by far exceeded my expectations - but unfortunately the last 2 eps left me empty! A lot questions unanswered, like what happened to Ye Haitang's son? We're the children able to meet again? What actually happened to Nuin? Did she grow up alone? Why does she remember what happened? The mailbox - where is it from? How does it work? Does it appear and work for other people? What happened to Cha, where is he?

These questions were something i wish were answered -- cuz that was the main plot. Not answering qs about mailbox might be acceptable as the story also focused on lifes struggles, relationships, friends and found family but this brought the rating down from what should've been a 10/10 to a 9. I couldn't have put it lower then 9, with the perfect portrayal of the characters, their stories, the things they went through and the decisions they made.

Ok ignoring my concerns with the open and rushed ending, this one of the drama's that didn't make me skip any of the side characters stories throughout the full 12 eps -- I loved every character and felt emotionally connected to all.
The story focusing on thugs and how being connected to or being in to close to the wrong people leading to huge problems - and even poverty - was eye opening and i appreciated the plot for going over this for Tang Yixun's, Cha and Rats story.
How miss Tan and Cha loved each other, but love was not able to save their relationship was such a good message (although i really wanted them to work it out -- but it wasn't possible)!

And finally our main leads. Ye Haitang didn't let Tang Yixun's presence and protection stop her from being just and stand for herself in times where he was and not there -- she stood her ground no matter the situation -- and i loved that about her; Sometimes the girl changes her bold and just behavior cuz of a man, but we love strong main leads!

Tang Yixun, the ultimate yearner, but also my favorite character in the show. He might seem aggressive and immature, but he's just and stands with whats right. Being alone from a young age, he found someone who loved him for not just his strength, but also his weaknesses, his vulnerabilities of being to inferior to even think about having a better life then the one he is living right now. I loved the main leads relationship, we knew it was kind of romantic but it also wasnt -- it was stronger and more deeper: family. I liked how reduced but subtle the romance was between the two -- it didn't overtake the main part of the story, which made this drama more perfect.

It had every romantic dynamic, but it was so subtle that we didn't need to see more of it!

Let's not forget the same thing with the children -- i never wanted to see a romantic build up for them, and im so glad we never got it, but ultimately the sacrifice they made was respectable! i liked that it was Shen Cheng who made the decision, but at the same time i felt so bad for Nuin -- she lost her dad, and at the same time found he wasn't her real dad and for a couple of episodes had to live with this guilt that her dad killed SC mom and then lost SC, her dad and everyone in the new timeline :<
She deserved a better and fulfilled ending, and i really wish that was shown or is shown in maybe another season!

Overall, an amazing watch - it should definitely have been longer so the questions were fully answered and it wasn't rushed.

PS. i loved seeing Zhou Yiran as a girl dad :P i wish we had more scenes of them they were so cute <3

If you loved WIFTY & Go Ahead - Watch this <3

super underated and i reccomend everyone too watch this if they love slice of life, school and friendship shows, with a bit of romance of course

this drama was everything i wanted from Go Ahead, but didn't get and ill proudly say this beats Go Ahead by far!

the pacing was perfect - we had enough eps at the start to get us into the show, know and understand the different characters and their circumstances, including the parents! it was beautiful seeing how the 3 families had their different problems, whether it was with their children, their husbands or wifes and how each dynamic was unique but realistic.

it showed how to value your loved ones in the moment, because you never know when they will leave you behind or how it's okay to be selfish and do what you want to, get help when you always help yourself and others! how having a proper wedding after having kids and a stable income is perfectly ok and should be normalized & how everyones love languages are different but still love languages!!

jing xichi was by far my fav written characters! when he had to give up on his first love - football - and lost his dad around the same time was heartbreaking to see, because he lost his spark there an then. he became the quite, serious student who was getting top grades in his class, from being the fun, hyper and lively athelete :<. Nevertheless his progress was amazing! getting a job offer from companies because of a project he made for his friends in his first year shows how far he's come -- and even though it wasn't football that gave him happiness anymore, he got a replacement; Chen Huaner! A girl who admired from the behind the scenes and who supported him at his lowest. the dynamic of their relationship was beautiful

my only major problem was with Qi Qi character -- at first i understood her but as the story grew i didn't like her that much! her reconcilation with Huaner could've been better executed and I'm glad her and Song Cong broke up and went their seperate ways --- they were not made for each other, it seemed very forced. the ending for Qi Qi does her justice i'm glad her development was executed right! As for Song Cong, his development and character was also perfect at the end! he got to focus on himself & his studies and during that he reflected on his personality and fixed the void that was missing!

overall this drama covers many aspects in a meaningful and beautiful way <3
