The ML is a total idiot who i don't even know how he even managed to scrape by in life and get to this point. He cries every time he is met with a challenge, or resorts to drinking his problems away without ever coming up with any resolutions, actions or plans himself. He somehow someway always lucks out by meeting women who always seems to solve his problems for him. risk their lives for him and/or gets hurt or worst.... sacrificing themselves, all while he gets himself into another problem that he cant figure out. Every episode completed just cements it even more so that this guy is simply THE WORST HERO ever. I wish they'd just kill this ML in the first episode an just have the story on his female friends/ They definitely would be more hero material and wayyyy more bad ass than this goofball ML. lol

I saw your reply and I went straight to the last episode to re-watch that part they talking about each other. -----OH-MY-GAWDDDDDD..... my blood INSTANTLY began to boil watching her FRIEND-ZONE the BEST thing she has in her life... EVER-EVERRRRR!!!! Made me want a part 2 to continue the story... Here's the breakdown of what I'd like to see for the full season: FL finds out in there very first episode that ML is the total OPPOSITE of what she thought he was and he turns out to be the most evil-cruelist guy possible, making her suffer even more than Jack getting stuck in an endless forever void. Then... at the end of the season, she has to make the ultimate decision on escaping from ML, which turns out to be becoming an AI herself and forced to be a butler, who eventually falls in love with someone who will play games with her heart, lead her on, make her fall in love with them, all to end with her getting FRIENDZONED with any and everybody who she likes/loves. I feel this 2nd season is soooo much needed for me to feel at least some kind of redemption for OUR BOY, JACK!!!! Or even better, we make Jack turn into a real person and be the ML that FL finally falls for and sees he is THE ONE and ONLY ONE for her.... then...at the very peak of her trusting him ----BOOM!!!! Jack proceeds to let her know that he likes her too.... AS A LITTLE DORKY SISTER of his that he is totally unattracted to and never would even consider!!!! ***insert evil laugh here***. Thank you for reminding me of FL's betrayal because i totally almost didnt remember what had happened! On ep 9 currently.... and one thing i gotta say: Can Shang Yi Zhi get any more WEAKER than he already is??!! Answer: Apparently there's LEVELS to this weak man that I didnt even know existed!!! He gets into predicaments that he could have easily avoided, either physically avoiding or verbally easily getting out of said situations -----BUT NOOOOOOO... he so weak he even surprises himself when he gets saved and doesn't even know how to respond even in the most basic ways. Like if you were just caught and being locked up. you would assume that as soon as you get rescued out of that situation, your first reaction should be to go sneak away quietly, rather than stand there dumbfounded like I-DONT-EVEN UNDERSTAND-WHATS-GOING-ON-AND-WHAT-I-SHOULD-BE-DOING brainless moment. Anddddd.... don't even get me started on how he doesn't even remotely attempt to get away or even the slightest concern about how he might be dead pretty soon. He seems to always luck out at the very last moment with someone intervening. How old is this guy?! I'm totally bewildered on how he hasn't manage to fall into a trap or just simply being killed up until this point. He's clueless as hell. I feel bad for his homeboy because there's moments i can see in his face where he has an expression like YOU CANT BE SERIOUS... ....OH HERE HE GOES AGAIN... *face palm*. At this point, i dont care how bad Cheng Yu Qing is... he...or anybody for that matter would be a better fit for A Mai... as a companion or even as a romantic interest. I really hope they find a treasure chest full of brains for ML.
The final "Happy Ending" is very clear to me: the penultimate (second-to-last) scene before they cut to both of them being in Japan, Doona returns to Won Jun and they clearly make up. She went out of her way to run to him to ask him to say (1) he's sorry, (2) he regrets not chasing after her and allowing them to drift apart, and (3) he says he's missed her after she first says "I missed you". The emotion is clearly "lovey dovey" and the camera even pans a bit to the left (where the bed is located). He is very happy when shopping in a jewelry store in Japan (for a real ring this time?) and obviously they've synchronized their calendars to be at the same place. The fact that they are walking in opposite directions is only a metaphor that each is doing his or her own thing (she's an idol, he's now a Civil Worker) BUT they are doing different things in the same geographical location: that is, they are no longer separated by space or time. They merely have different jobs and both of them were very private people anyway, so it's okay that they keep their relationship secret for the sake of her career. She herself said that she had planned to work for a few years enough to make money so she wouldn't be worried financially (this happened when she tried to convince him in an earlier episode to remain together even while he went to serve in the military). Logically, there is also NO reason in the world for two lovers who never stopped loving each other, never cheated on each other, and already said they are sorry to each other and have missed each other (with tears and a deep amorous hug to boot) will end up breaking up. They would end up in that bed located next to them that the camera pans towards as they hug in Won Jun's bedroom/apartment, which Doona went out of her way to visit after she had already returned back to her luxurious apartment after first visiting Won Jun and crying when she saw the sunset, which reminded her of the morning sun she watched with Won Jun the morning they had made love in her childhood (grandmother's) country home. She felt empty without him. Personality-wise, it's also consistent that Doona is not the type to give up on love. Even though her manager didn't treat her well, she was hooked on him like an addict (there's the suggestions he's both a father figure and perhaps lover, but married, and thus not free to be with her). She even runs into the street shoeless on her birthday after the manager has left her a birthday present without saying hello. Doona has a great need to feel real deep love she has never felt from a father she never had and a mother who abandoned her. Her manager gave her a career as a child so she was fixated on him. But the way Won Jun looked at her and treated her was "tender" and a "profound love." He also never betrayed Doona. He was hurt that Doona ran off with the manager, though she returned to Won Jun, after Doona chose Won Jun over the manager. Doona's personality, craving a real love and someone who would never abandon her, would not be the type to let a loving Won Jun go. She also knows that they are both similar: both are very private, both have loved a person with what they perceived was unrequited (unreturned, or at least, not fully returned) love. But in each other, they have similar, yet different, deep love that will never betray. Plus they are hot for each other physically. So clearly they are keeping their relationship secret. When Doona looks back towards Won Jun, there is not look of "surprise" on her at all. She knows he's around. And he was smiling while there. Clearly, they were going to hook up later. In a few years, celebrity Doona would announce -- as many idols have done (e.g. NS Yoon) that she has married a non-celebrity she has dated for years and thank her fans for her loyalty. That is the sequel not filmed here, but we know will happen. Yes, it was a metaphorical ending, but not an open-ending. It's clear that they are hiding, even to us. The filmmakers won't even reveal to us that they are secret dating because that's how private Doona and Won Jun will be about their dating. It will be their private happy world. Happy ending!!

I kinda feel bad for 2nd ML since he's caught in a bad situation between doing right and his evil crooked dad. He actually is a good guy but I have a feeling it'll either go in 2 ways for him: Either he gets stuck doing his dad's evil-doing's and look super bad in the eyes of FL or he will go down the evil path for a bit, and then at the last moment, he will do a complete 180 to redeem himself by helping out ML & FL and going against his father's ultimate plans of using the law to their own benefits. Any which way it goes, sad that he won't be getting any play from FL.

I went straight to this comment section to also try to figure out the same!!! I had to rewind it and listen to it again. At first, I thought he was referring to his sister and saying that she is a princess (to him). Then on second listen, it sounded like that was definitely directed at FL. Got me thinking and trying to backtrack, like, did he do a sorta secret investigation on her right from the very first time they met and it has been on-going ever since?? That would really seem plausible since he IS an attorney who does a lot of investigating and connecting dots together to solve his cases, so that would be very natural of him to do so. It just wasn't shown to us viewers that he was doing so in the background. Other than that, I have no idea how he would know she was a princess! lol. -----I'm actually glad it ended that way instead of the usual storyline of her getting mad at him for being drunk elsewhere while she's been waiting for him all night long outside.

This was the first time I actually decided to skim forward past "a few" annoying moments!!! --- I really feel like ML should GROW A PAIR and at least make sure she is alright when she walks back home... not just pretend to stop for a moment ..and then go " oh wells. if she dies she dies...." smh lol. ---ML's leads homie is straight up turned into the only person that b making sense now!!! ----Hopefully the rest of the characters level up by time next episode hits, or Imma be REALLL MADDD!!!!
