She can't send letters to the mountain; all the letters she was writing were never sent over. The drama clearly shows that the mountain was sealed, so no one can enter or leave the place unless they have the ED or the Emperor's permission.

Besides, how come she wasn't affected by the plague when she buried them? I know she was isolated, but when she was exposed to it directly, when talking to her maid and master Helai. Writers wrote the plague to be deadly, as everyone died because of it. Then our FL survived it without any explanation of why her.

I think, regarding the edict part, the empress dowager did nothing to investigate how Ye Li obtained the real edict, even though the marquis had informed her he had taken care of it. As a villain character, she's too comfy not to investigate this matter and know who betrayed her. There were lots of signs on the consort's face and her distance for her start of mistrust, and I thought as a smart villain, she could send someone to spy on her. So yeah, I agree that we have many plot holes in the drama.

I personally have no problem with separation; my biggest issue is the way it happened. The drama spent some time on their romantic development, bonding and emotional conversations. However, FL's decision to hide the truth undermines the development built, making the breakup feel forced rather than natural. This shows inconsistency in narration and poor pacing in this drama.

Maybe the writers wanted to pass information to female viewers not to trust a man's sweet words. They were actually thinking of women out there not to live in delulu even when you have been lonely for so long. Never fully depend on a man's words who claims to love you; always leave a way out for yourself.
Also, writers made FL not communicate how lonely she felt when she was at Lishan Mountain. How can FL expect ML to know everything when she keeps everything to herself, and he himself has also been written to have a painful past😄
That aside, I blame the production team for many contradictory scenes and actions I have seen in this drama. No one watched and felt that their conversations and later actions were not in sync?

If he feared the edict could be destroyed by the marquis and he knew very well he worked for the empress dowager, why did he give it to FL's mother, who promised him she would present it to the empress dowager herself? He had hidden it well so he could use it at the execution place where people are gathered, and everyone is watching, if he wanted to save his family. I actually think the writers wanted ML and FL to have a dark past to make us viewers sympathise with them😂
