This gives me "Criminalist Himura and Mystery Writer Arisugawa" vibes: the genre, color grading and bromance between the 2 leads. And they have similar sountracks lol! I knew I heard the track they play on the background when they show bits of upcoming scenes before a commercial break and then I remembered where I heard it. I'm lovin it!
I actually REALLY ENJOYED this drama. Definitely a "light-felt" kind of BL drama and focuses a lot on true expression,…
It might be that you watched a version that was subbed wrongly. Aoki NEVER said he doesn't like men, only Ida. What he said was, he doesn't go around "whoring" himself because he only likes one person (Ida).
Fun fact: The actor who will play Ichiro is one of Keita Machida's close friends and also his troupemate from Gekidan Exile. He is quite famous in Japan, more than Inukai actually. His acting portfolio is extensive and he has been part of several well-received movies and dramas like Tokyo Ghoul, High&Low, Radiation House, etc. so we're definitely in for a great performance from him in this upcoming BL drama.
Ugh. One of the most bizarre, unappealing BLs ever made. Why does everyone worship Gii? He's boring, walks around…
Well, you have to consider the year this was produced and aired, in the time when BL is not as huge as it is now. Naturally, due to limited resources and all, the directing, scriptwriting and other production values were so-so. Also, in the late 2000s, their hairstyles were the "in" thing, even in S Korea and Taiwan. Moreover, there is a reason why Takumi-kun has garnered a cult following. There were many people who actually loved the series.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you look with the eyes of a person who has been exposed to BL since 2000s, you'll probably be able to appreciate this movie series better.

Lemme just say, I relate to Aoki on a personal level. He reminds me so much of my high school awkwardness. And Michieda Shunsuke's acting is on point. He is Aoki Souta personified ^^
Watched this because apparently one of the lead actors look like Stell Ajero of SB19 and wow, he really does! I can't believe I binged the whole series in one night. The story of the 1st season was cute and heartwarming while the 2nd season was heavy and heartbreaking but I loved the ending of both seasons. The acting was phenomenal. Sam Lin and Yu's chemistry is off the charts and reminds me so much of StellJun. So far, WBL is coming really close to the 1st spot in my heart, beside Cherry Maho.
I know a lot of people want a second season of Cherry Magic, but I low-key don't want it. I'm worried that a 2nd…
I've seen many Jap series where the succeeding releases are actually on par with, sometimes even better than, the 1st productions so I'm not losing hope :)
I am literally watching all his and Eiji's seriesCurrently I am watching -Life as a girl which is another lgbtq…
Jun Shison, the guy who played Miki, is headlining a Supernatural BL movie in January. Please check it out. It's gonna be as amazing as CM. The title is "The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window". This is the most anticipated Jap BL production in 2021.
What is the meaning of "thump" the word that Tsuge using in ep 3?
"Kyun", the word that Tsuge used, is something that you would feel when you see someone you like or someone you like did something that made your heart skip a beat.
Hi everyone. After this ends, does anyone want to watch the other machida keita and akaso eiji shows together?…
I'm interested in Nusumareta Kao since I'm a huge sucker for Japanese detective shows. My wish is to see Keita sama topbill a detective drama series in 2021. Hope it happens!
OL is my fave Japanese BL drama (before CM, of course). I agree that Haruta can sometimes be annoying and over…
Agreed! OL is also my favorite BL before CM stole my heart. Even though some people find Haruta annoying, to me he is very adorable and funny with his expressions (Just like Tsuge lol!) and I have been a fan of Kei Tanaka eversince. I will always treasure OL as the show that opened the doors of mainstream japanese media towards BL. Without OL, I am not sure I will be able to discover the perfection that is Cherry Maho. I am also excited to see future Japanese BL productions try to surpass the greatness of CM. And 2021 already looks promising especially with the release of "The Night Beyond The Tricornered Window" in January.
probably by 2021. Since most magazines editorial/cover for nov/dec were already shot and planned out. The best…
Boron is right. Japanese media tend to have everything planned out for at least 3 months in advance. This is also the reason why Eiji and Keita have not been included in many Male Ranking surveys yet. We will have to wait until next year for more appearances.
Does anyone know how this drama is doing in local TV ratings in Japan AND how much buzz (online or offline) it’s…
It was the most voted for drama last week (for the 2nd time around) in Oricon. Oricon is basically the number 1 company in Japan when it comes to ranking and statistics.
My favorite BL since Trapped ended and I think it will stay there for a long long time. I've been so disappointed…
Ossan's Love was very popular though when it aired. Trending #1 in Japan and worldwide for consecutive weeks. Made Kei Tanaka a household name in Japan (he now has a drama or two every season) even earned him a GQ Man of the Year title. Ossan's Love's popularity opened the doors for BL in Japanese mainstream media. Now we have the likes of Nishijima Hidetoshi, Chiba Yudai, Masaki Okada, Keita Machida and even Eiji Akaso who already have established acting careers, playing BL roles which are unusual in other countries where most of the actors are newbies. Boys Love genre originated in Japan so there's no wonder their game is above the rest of the world.
Moreover, there is a reason why Takumi-kun has garnered a cult following. There were many people who actually loved the series.
