Wait, where is it mentioned that that Prime Minister framed ML's mother before his son's death. As far as I remember, there was a coversation between him and Empress where she asks why didn't he kill ML when he was a kid and why did he want to kill him after growing up? and he said he has his reasons, which was that his son was killed. So by that timeline if the mother died before, he should have killed the ML earlier to clear any path for throne for his potential grandson (not sure if the second brother was born by then or not)

I am only critiquing it from the point of what they have shown. It is not an oversimplification, if all the hatred against ML is forcefully written since he has hardly done anything to get that heat. I understand that its a drama and its not supposed to be that deep. But the whole series has a pattern, that keeps repeating, which makes it a bit mundane. The power play part I agree with, that thats the larger picture but then there are character's who will get literally nothing more out of killing him, other than some revenge they have cooked in their mind.
Also, I dont agree with that it doesn't revolve around ML alone, because from what I am seeing it kinda does.
Also, when the bg of Prime Minister's son was shown, it was shown that he didnt want to go ahead with his son's plan as it might be seen as rebellion, but when his son died, he not only embraced the plan of his own faction, but also started plotting to kill ML who was a kid at the time.
Although I do have 4 more episodes to finish, but the characters apart from ML, FL, don't really seem to have a lot of depth. (My opinion) I do like Xia Jingshi's character till, because he does seem to care for people under him, although he likes power more, but his ruthlessness is understandable given how his brother treated him. But apart from that, it's fairly average.
Also, its a bit irritating that everyone in the world wants to ML for no obvious reasons. That storyline is so forced!!! Storm Alliance wants to kill him to avenge whatever they thought the king did, who has been ruling for 15 years, but no one wanted to kill the king smh. His own bff wants to kill him because he is first prince and gets priority treatment. Marquis wants to kill him to save his son, although at no point would ML would have considered killing his friend. The prime minister wanted to kill because his son was killed by king, for very valid reasonsss. Conveniently forgetting when he killed ML’s mother. Like does no one have actual brain in the series to use,
I am on Ep 32. Till now pace of drama was good. It wasn’t boring at all. But now its dragging. And oh my God do I hate the Princess. She is so annoyingg and fickle minded. At first, she was literally going against her brother and her father, threatening her own life to help an enemy. Then when he didn’t return the love, because he loved another which he said from the start, she is counting him as enemyyyyy… all because a random who cant keep it in his pants starts liking her… ughhh.. spoiled princess to the core. And she is taking revenge in a place she chose to go from a person she chose to go with, and had almost no hand in her brother and father getting killed, I am soo pissed at thisss
Just lost interest sometime after 19th episode. The unnecessary twists and turns were too much. I think the makers were confused whether to keep it romcom or stupid mystery.
I am on ep 26 and the most annoying part is no one knows anything about other person's life completely!! Everyone keeps assuming one person's relation to some other person and there's almost no communication even between friends let alone couples... even though everyone is interconnected somehow!!
