For anyone interested, there are Japanese subs available somewhere. You can Google translate them (be aware these can have some gender and general overall context errors, use some basic Japanese to fill some gaps while watching).

The movie was solid overall, I find myself thinking about it a lot and loving it more as days go by. Sad and melancholic vibes all around, the camera work looks a lot like All About Lily Chou-Chou, so it feels pretty personal and intense. AiNA was great all along, even when the script wasn't helping her at all.

I'll wait a little bit to watch it again when subs are available, it's a strong movie. I can see some people getting bored or not interested while watching it, but if it drags you into his vibes and themes, you are going to have a great ride.

btw, Ai Otsuka was lovely, such a nice addition to the cast.

Japan has a top 5 movie industry in terms of earnings and production, same goes for their music industry. Japan…
The country you are rambling about is the one that made Kyrie possible. Aina wouldn't even be there without the idol industry supported by the people you insult.

I'm not saying that people aren't racist or something, but you are mixing 10 different topics because you are mad that there are no subtitles for a movie starring an idol. Just stop.

It’s stagnant or thriving? It’s one or another. And why do you mention foreigners? Japan doesn't care about them for all the reasons I gave on my original comment. Award wise Japan has been having really good years with movies that are not so conventional, from directors with less than 10-15 years of working experience. Calm down, Japanese cinema it’s thriving while being full of good stories, just wait for the subtitles and relax.

honestly kinda fed up with japan, movie is on a online streaming but without subs, i dont think the dvd release…
Japan has a top 5 movie industry in terms of earnings and production, same goes for their music industry. Japan produces content for Japan because its economy thrives on selling Japanese content to Japanese people. Understand that the mere existence of these films (the same goes for music or anime) is because of the Japanese production style that relies on several companies funding the production. These companies that invested their money have a business to do in Japan, international success means nothing to these companies because they cannot fully profit from them.

I get that you are angry, I also want to enjoy this movie right now, but don't call them racist or something because we have to admit that we are not the target of their products, just enjoyers and, sadly, we need to play by their rules.
