I just finished binge watching S2 ans while I do like it, something feels missing. S1 had such a grip on me and I was kind of expecting something of a similar charm to attract me but that didn't really happen. Still like it but was hoping for more...

I agree with the backlash but please stop flooding the reviews with pure negativity. I did like this show before ep 7 and 8 tbh and now I don't see myself enjoying it as much anymore ngl. As an Arab, I was honestly offended by how they presented us. They could have put more effort into their research, it's not hard. That should be the bare minimum if you want to represent another culture. I am very disappointed but that is not to say that I will spew all types of negativity about this show because, excluding this issue, it is an enjoyable series.

This might be a spoiler to some so be warned!

This is a great show, other than the fact that it's really damaging to the DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) community out there. I really hate it when movies like Split or other k-dramas use DID to show villainous superpowers, or evil and violent behaviour. People with DID develop that disorder because of severe traumatic experiences so, as victims, they are actually less like than other people to harm others. I understand this is like a fantasy thriller drama but they didn't have to use DID. They could've made up some disorder to fit in with the fantasy plot rather than use a real mental health disorder and risk causing misrepresentation and further stigma towards the DID community.

Bruh I don't know why I looked through all the comments and still gave this show a shot. I actively just wasted my time and I have no one to blame but myself.

All of you saying how bad this series is are so full of SHIT.....it's the greatest non-addictive cure for insomnia…
When I saw this comment, I was like "there's no way, it's probably an exaggeration" so I gave the show a shot. All I want to say is... the second line of this comment is 100% accurate. I've been having trouble sleeping these past few days and I swear I fell asleep so quickly mid way through episode 1

Title One Ordinary Day Spoiler
Ok so maybe a controversial opinion but I didn't feel like Hyun Soo's transition was rushed or unrealistic like some commentators have said. I feel like, firstly, it highlighted that they would have been uneventful days in prison and the outside that wouldn't have been "documented" in the drama so in a sense it doesn't feel rushed in the natural progression in real time but rushed for the viewer, who is seeing things for possibly a one sided perspective.

Secondly, another reason why I feel like it is actually realistic and not rushed is because trauma doesn't abide by the laws of time. We can clearly see that Hyun Soo has problems when it comes to trauma. In the beginning, he kept having panic attacks and nightmares. His memory kept playing games with him because of all the gaslighting so he even started to see himself as the killer. His environment couldn't allow him to be weak anymore so his trauma response shifted into one that made him appear unemotional and blunt. Because this is a trauma response, it obviously doesn't have to abide with the flow of time, so this change doesn't have to be gradual. It can be as gradual or immediate as the mind perceives the urgency of trauma-processing.

One more thing, he isn't completely unemotive or blunt by the end. I see this change as the inability to cope with the guilt of perhaps saving her if he did not rush out. That's why he responded the way he did while taking the witness stand and the rhetorical question he asked during his last trial words.
