I wasn't satisfied with Qi Long and ZiYi ending!! Omg the 2016 coupe got their happy ending after Wang Lin…
I kind of interpreted Qi Long and Zi Yi's ending as this was his way of saying goodbye to her and seeing her one last time. It seems like her death (and Chen Xun's) is already in the history books and can't be changed, so all Qi Long can do now is see her before all the time-traveling shenanigans happen. At least I hope that's what the ending meant because otherwise you're right, and we're back to square one for no reason...
