well, most people are hypocrites, people like to associate with them with noble causes like equality but they don't like change anything. so shows talks about beauty/autiusm/other-illness/age ect brings easy profit.
when was the last time you saw a non-pale white or not-skinny or disabled FL in K-drama?
I don't like to be negative about people appearance but Lee Shin character was total miscast.
She supposed to be a strong character and with lots of emotional depth but there are no reaction in her face (not talking about stoic or poker face). Her face muscles doesn't move at all seems very uncanny, people watched with me legit freaked out. we had to skip all of her scenes.
Also this is one of the show that support cast shines more than main protagonists, both Lee yoo-mi and Yang dong-geun characters and their stories are 10/10.
Show starts good but around 14 its gets super dumb.

Example : 3 min long shot of person opening the door and nothing happens after that, so many scenes like these.
around the world it the same issue, it's like author saying "stop being poor" to a poor person.
ultimately it's a shoujo manga, don't bother tying to make sense out of it because you will never will.

Just like other people point it out, "romance " scenes are too disturbing to watch.
Actress looks extremely uncomfortable and have repulsed look on her face during these scenes (who knows she could be under shady contract) .
