i'm actually enjoying the pacing a lot. But maybe its because most of the other chinese drama's drag it wayyyy more than this one so my expectations are low. But damn i can't get enough of their chemistry, so im totally fine with the current pacing.

I think theres alot of meaning added because they included it. Shows the class differences. Creates contrast in the characters to really show how love shines despite differences.

yah right? I think they went back to the foggy place that lets them go into each others dreams. the ml brought them there hoping it would help the fl wake up. it’s getting confusing and I’m just treating these episodes as if they didn’t exist LOL can’t wait for tmr hopefully the angst comes back
i actually found this drama to be a very nice watch. its heartfelt, funny, includes depth in family dynamics and conflicts that can, at the base, be relatable although slightly exaggerated.
Its definitely a feel good drama. you do get annoyed by the mother complexes but thats what they are trying to do.
wow well thoughtout storyline. Rare for a chinese drama i'd say. Not dragged for too long just enough episodes to tell the story. Every episode ends with a good hook. I'd say its a binge worthy show, and wont leave you sleepless as its quite short at only 12 episodes.
The part when shen yue is scrambling in the car to find a way to waste time was so cute. And the way zhaixiaowen responded with such care was sooo wholesome. I think he thought that shen yue may have wanted to go back to the grocery store for women's product since shen yue made it seem like she didn't feel comfortable to tell him what she wanted to get. But she was just finding a way to waste time for his birthday suprise. I love this show. There's no drama, everyone is so supportive and hardworking. This season's cast has got to be my favourite.

I haven’t read the book yet, but just from watching these, it feels like PeiSu is somehow scared and unsure about the kind of person he could become. It’s like he undergoes these crazy preventative measures as a way to suppress the possibility of turning into someone like his dad. Not that it’s “in his genes,” but maybe he’s afraid that his genes might overpower his consciousness? I’m not sure if I’m interpreting it right, but damn — this is so interesting.
