this was a beautiful journey
i am genuinely speechless by how beautifully made and well thought this show was. i love a good slow-burn and the first frost gave me everything and more i could want from a good romance show.personally, i loved that the storyline wasn't linear and it switched between the present and past timelines. the high school scenes helped to understand their dynamics and the complications in their present situation and it was beautifully done. i wish their high school scenes were given a bit more importance instead of the unnecessary secondary plots which weren't needed in the show at all. also would have loved to see sangyan outside of the relationship but i guess you can't have everything perfect in a show.
breathtaking would be an understatement for how stunning the soundtrack was. willful by mayday and like a sunny day by sunny wang are a permanent part of my playlist now. also loved the bgm which played frequently during the show specially during yifan's dancing scenes and their intimate moment in ep 10. i am obsessed with that beautiful disney like tune.
words wouldn't do justice to how beautifully bai jing ting and zhang ruonan portrayed their roles. the fact that they received backlash before the show aired is insane to me because i don't think anybody else could have played these roles better than these two. they literally became one with the characters.
i loved this show so so much and it's going to my going to comfort rewatches list for life. thank you china for the first frost <3

can melt even the coldest of hearts
i had heard rave reviews about this show so i already went in with crazy high expectations but somehow i was still pleasantly surprised just by how good this show was.the initial episodes with the kids and the parents and the struggles they had to face were honestly some of the best episodes i have ever seen in a kdrama, i lowkey wish those episodes were continued for a bit longer before the time travel aspect kicked in. but i really enjoyed the later episodes as well. the group dynamics and the father-son relationship (if you can call it that?) was beautiful. my favourite character by far was chung-ah and my only nitpicking with the show is that her character could have been explored further, specially after the final arc which imo wasn't wrapped very well before they jumped to the present timeline.
overall this was a fantastic watch and definitely deserves the hype!!
