Genuine heads up to everyone reading this — this is a troll account that did the exact same thing when Pursuit of Jade was airing. the pattern is pretty obvious at this point: trash the leads of ongoing dramas, then randomly bring up He Yu and Esther Yu as 'better choices' so the negativity and resentment attaches to them. They're not fans of this drama or any drama, they're just using review sections to turn fandoms against those two (Esther & HY) specifically.

episode 1 of 40 and you want full chemistry already😭 what do you want them to do for the rest of the show, stare at walls!? like let the story breathe bestie! We will get plenty of romantic scenes once they are done introducing the characters and the storyline!
My thought on Ep 1 and why you should start the drama asap!
Done with ep 1 and I genuinely was not prepared for how good this was going to look. Like i went with high expectations and it lived up to it... i was literally amazed just by the opening credit rolls and the bgm . Then the opening sequence with He Simu's introduction had me sitting up straight because the way they shot her; the stillness, the lighting, the silence before she even speaks was 🔥🔥 .
Dilraba really said "I will play a four hundred year old ghost queen and I will make you feel every single one of those years" and delivered. This is the first high-profile, big-budget drama of 2026 that doesn't vomit up rainbows and unicorns in its color scheme instead it's textured, moody, dark and darkkk. Like a fever dream crossing xianxia with A Nightmare Before Christmas. Despite the dark costumes and backdrops, the camera grades are never so dark that you can't see anything, which is the usual sin dramas commit during night scenes and nightmare-scapes. The production team clearly knew the assignment! Watching ep 1 felt like every frame was actually thought about before they hit record. And the OST??? It was amazing full of mysterious melody tunes and at times quite emotional .
Chen Feiyu as Duan Xu is giving me this quiet, sharp energy that I really wasn't expecting, he doesn't dominate scenes, he just holds them, and when he's looking at He Simu it's giving "I don't understand what you are but I'm not leaving either." The way Dilraba switches between being this untouchable, commanding Ghost King and then subtly softening the second Duan Xu is near, it's so understated but you feel it which is the hardest thing to pull off.
Their chemistry right now is a slow burn and I think I prefer it that way because it feels earned. Episode 1 alone has already gotten me by the throat and I don't think I'm getting out of this one unscathed.
